What are your 5 Desert Island Pedals?

I like the fuzz on a rat with some mids taken out with the ruetz mod. It must be said that it’s a poor man’s version of a fuzz so I get your point.

    What's on the workbench?

The fact that this will be in a 125B is a game changer! I wasn’t willing to commit to this in the 1590XX.

Please explain bad traces to me

A trace is the copper from one pad to another. It is normally within the PCB. They are “bad” when they are damaged or they lift up like in the picture because the PCB itself has been damaged. Pads can also be damaged and lift or fall apart if they are repeatedly over heated. You diagnose the...

Please explain bad traces to me

Sometimes if a component has received too much heat the trace can lift or become damaged. I wouldn’t say it’s hugely common but something to consider when you are trouble shooting. Good inspection, continuity testing and audio probing can help to work it out. There can be “bad traces” if a board...

What are your 5 Desert Island Pedals?

I’m toying with the idea of putting together a 5 pedal set up in an large Hammond enclosure similarly (but less magnificently) to what @ADAOCE did - https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/bass-multi-effect-pedalboard.11968/ What are your five pedals that are essential for you (on this desert...

Issues with popping with coda bypass design

Hi everyone, After seeing @Chuck D. Bones thread on relay switching - it has got me thinking. I am tempted to have a go at Dave’s but I would love to get the bottom of this issue. I often use codas relay bypass circuitry on designs. It is plagued by certain builds having a loud pop when...

    A simple Relay Bypass

Thanks @Chuck D. Bones - I will definitely give this a try. I often use the coda bypass and get an odd intermittent pop with some builds. This should be known as Celestial Switching.

    Chop Shop - Capacitor Voltage

The general advice is that have your capacitors rated to double the voltage of your power supply. So if using 9v for this pedal, then having caps to cover at least 18v. The main issue is you are only going to be able to buy a 16v or 25v capacitor. So it’s the safest option to go with 25v.
