Delegate Compressor Boneyard Edition No Voltage at LED

Assuming you define continuity as under a few ohms resistance then you should only get continuity to all 3 release pot lugs with the pot all the way anticlockwise. Turn it as far clockwise as it will go and you should then get about 50k ohms between the LED K and the pot lug 1.

    Tayda printing question

Is that the one they call (I think) candy purple metal flake? If so there is one in my cart at the moment :-)

    Tayda printing question

Thanks. Yeah, not lots of white - black box with just the labels for the controls in white, so I will get it done twice just to make sure. Thanks

    Tayda printing question

For those with experience getting printing done by Tayda: If I want to get white markings on a dark background (black or dark blue) do I need to pay to get the white printed twice or is a single printing of white enough?

No audio for Deluxe Bass Big Muff π

I would be suspicious of a short. First thing I would do is check the resistance between the power supply rails (Gnd, Vrf and 9V. If one is shorted or close to then either visually inspect for a short or start removing components that run between the 2 shorted rails until the short goes. I...

No audio for Deluxe Bass Big Muff π

I have just replaced both the footswitches on one of these too. I have heard a lot of moaning about EHX footswitch quality - not just on these units. I haven't traced mine, but I reckon you could work out something similar - possibly even better/more to your taste. Not sure about where the...

SOLVED Nobelium DI Preamp Issue: MOSFET Overheating

I am not an expert on this particular circuit. The MOSFET is part of the HT for the tubes. Getting too hot suggests a short. I would be removing the tubes and testing all the components around the MOSFET for shorts. If that all seems fine I would be replacing the MOSFET and seeing in the...

    CELSIUS PREAMP KIT - ISSUE

Your input and output jacks are wired incorrectly. The yellow wires connected to the ground pads on the board are connected to the signal connectors on the sockets. If you reverse those connections on the sockets you should get better results

Drill templates - page properties ?

This is my process. 1. Print out the drill template with 100% sizing 2. cut it out on the lines 3. fold down the sides and tape it to the box 4. if it is not exactly the right size when taped to the box do it all again 5. carefully (with my eyes this means with a bench magnifier) centre punch...

    Leprechaun - Strange Glitch

The schematic isn't in the build doc but as far as a can tell looking at the board that pot does not directly control the FV-1. This pedal also uses one of the internal programs in the chip so the programming is there from the factory. I am betting on a poor solder joint or bad pot.

    SOLVED ADHD Oscillating Sound

My first thought would be that the pedal is fine and that your power adapter is noisy.

FV-1 Dev Board - Not getting audio from the FV-1 Chip

I had a problem with the arachnid board where the connection between the FV-1 and the EEPROM was not soldered well enough. There was enough for multimeter continuity check to beep, but the EEPROM programs were not working. Resoldered the pins and it was fine. It must have been good enough for...

    Lead Solder Buzz

There is nothing soldered into the ground pad that is supposed to ground the input jack. I assume you have that jack grounded some other way? I have found the source of a buzz before by grounding out the audio pathway until the buzz disappeared from the output. What I mean is ground pin 3 of...

    Unicab

That is all a ground lift does. If you have multiple sources of mains power in the system (pedalboard, amp, mixing desk) then a ground lift can be vital. If you are just going pedalboard straight to the mixer with no amp I have never had ground loop problems.

    Unicab

I do like me a bypass switch - just to be able A/B tone and volume when setting up. After that it will probably get very little use :-) I am likely to benefit from a smaller box (125B) because there's not much room on my board to play with. I think I will get an XLR and a TRS and see what I...

    Ibanez/Maxon older AD9 model issue

I had an original AD9 back in the day and it ran off 18v. You needed 2 9v batteries or an 18v adapter into a 1/8" socket.

    Unicab

Ah yes. It did occur to me that without a footswitch there would be more room for XLR out. Nice to see that it can work. I may do that as well.

    Unicab

I am thinking of putting together a Unicab. The original inspiration has a DI output as well. I mostly don't need that - where I play there is a DI already available so I just plug into that. There have been a few times though when that DI has been missing or broken and having a DI on my...
