    Negative Feedback!!

Dumble amps use this but there is also a debate about how noticeable it is from what I remember.

Important: Dust Covers for 16mm Potentiometers!

Musikding stocks them now? Good news! That has to be new. They didn't have them a few months ago.

    DCA75 Data Export?

It looks like the data is just a table so you can save it as CSV load it into Python and plot it with Matplotlib. My advice is to ask ChatGPT how to do it. ;)

Nobelium - tube bass preamp project

Out of curiosity, how do you power 2 heaters from 9V input? I can imagine 12V as series 6+6 but is it enough from 9V? Is it verified and available? It reminds me of some preamp *wink* that would be nice for my band's bass player. 🙃

Good brand of paint pens for enclosure?(Artistro sucks)

Has anyone tried the classic Edding? They have even an "industry grade" series which should withstand a lot. https://www.edding.com/professional-work-solutions/

Important: Dust Covers for 16mm Potentiometers!

Does anyone know where to get them other than on Tayda? Specifically in Europe. Tayda is out of the game for me. I was searching a lot and couldn't find it even on Aliexpress.

9 pin tube sockets at Mouser?

You can find them on Aliexpress. I don't think Mouser has them.

    Vampire Slayer DIY PCB?

I was interested to see how it works, so I made an LTspice model of this and have several questions. You have used 680nF in the schematic but 470n in your build. Why? What tube type have you used? You have used a 100V rating for caps but if you use 12AU7 there is about 122V at cathodes. If you...

The Week on the Breadboard: Sabbra Cadabra

Thanks for the suggestions! I almost forgot that there is a Tayda drill template (as I don't use it sadly). My only problem with the PPCB layout is that the knobs are too close together vertically. If I use it I can't fit 24mm knobs there. And there is also not that much space for knob labels...

The Week on the Breadboard: Sabbra Cadabra

I made a layout. It is not proven. I may polish it a bit. Resistors could fit CMF/RN55 or 0204 SMD MELF. Caps are 5mm for foil and 5mm with 2mm spacing for electrolytic ones. I have used Mosfet polarity protection (which can be bypassed with a jumper). There is also a trimmer in place of R19 and...

DEMO Clandestine Preamp 2.0 (Chase Tone Secret Preamp) - Demo added

Hey @MichaelW, you just need to build a few more. :D

    Bring out yer Diptrace

What is your recommended pcb width for the 125B enclosure? @PedalPCB boards are usually 1.9in, but I feel a 2.3in should be doable.

    Noob Question - Relays

Reliability of a relay in comparison to a mechanical switch. Soft switch. The possible momentary function of a switch if you implement it. Not that much more expensive. External switching is made easy if you implement it.

Particle Accelerator - Alembic F-2B clone

You might find this project helpful. https://www.thallenbeck.com/blog/posts/sortaflex-d-i-y-tube-bass-preamp/ He is using Crimson Audio CT-121, which is a bit cheaper (as he claims). It's hard to tell how available it is.

    A simple Relay Bypass

Thanks a lot. Makes me wonder, what was the reason to use 0402 size components? There is a room for 0603 and maybe even 0805 and that would be a bit easier to hand solder.

DEMO GET TO DA CHOPPA! | Aion FX Luna Optical Tremolo.

Thanks, I might give it a shot. The volume boost is really nice feature. That is also one thing I don't like about my tremolo pedal right now (cheap Modtone). There is some volume drop when engaged and the mentioned noise.

DEMO GET TO DA CHOPPA! | Aion FX Luna Optical Tremolo.

@UtilityBeltFX what is your experience about the noise in this one? I am thinking about building a new tremolo because the one I have is quite noisy and this one seems to be a good candidate. Also, can you dial some more vintage sounds similar to a Fender amp tremolo or is it really a "choppy" one?

    Servo Fuzz Face

I have used Chuck's servo circuit in a "regular" fuzz face (without the tone) and it worked although it is still a work in progress as I did some modifications on the input. It will be a question of specific transistors, and maybe a layout in my opinion.

Why are JFETs such a Pain in the Ass?

Little inspiration from my side. I made this PCB with the well-known "Improved JFET matcher" from geofex. The pad pattern allows for any combination of SMD pinouts. The same applies to through-hole parts. It is mounted on the 9V battery holder.

    Custom microcontroller-based relay bypass - update - v2.0 board

I did the same thing with the same PIC10F320. One thing to mention is there is also a PIC10F322 version with double the flash size. If you want to add it as a supported MCU. Do you program the MCUs out of the circuit? It would be nice to have some unified programming interface such as...
