Does the Celsius preamp behave like a fuzz when it comes to buffers?

Understood. But I’m still very interested in how things go for you. I’m never one to rule out the potential for issues in my own build caused either by my own mistakes (I once blew out four LEDs in succession before I realized that I had used a 4.7R resistor as the CLR rather than a 4.7 K) or my...

Does the Celsius preamp behave like a fuzz when it comes to buffers?

interesting that you’re not getting any distortion/fuzz in the high setting – my understanding is that that distortion in the high mode is basically a hallmark of this preamp (because the 2N222 is brought into the circuit when you switch to high mode). Looking at YouTube videos demoing other...

Does the Celsius preamp behave like a fuzz when it comes to buffers?

In addition to the very useful resources @Bricksnbeatles pointed me too, I also found an article by Boss, all confirming that, because this chorus and preamp was originally designed for use with low impedance instruments like keyboards, treble loss is to be expected in both high and low mode...

Does the Celsius preamp behave like a fuzz when it comes to buffers?

Thanks for this. Now I guess I’m going to need to go build a small buffer on Vero, crack open my build, and insert it on the input line just for those times when I don’t have an external buffer running in front of it. I really do quite prefer the sound of the high mode with the buffer than...

Does the Celsius preamp behave like a fuzz when it comes to buffers?

Like probably a lot of people, I find that I build my pedals more than actually play them. I'm trying to change that so I set aside some time to play with my Celsius. Because I have it running iin a 2-in1 build with my chorus and I’m not really a fan of the overdriven sound of the “high” mode on...

    Vibrobot Tremolo

I have the Pendulum (harmonic) and the Moonshot (nice versatile range of wave-shaping, but never gets to true "gated chop"). (deep breath) But I have two tremolos already. I don't need another tremolo. I have two tremolos already. I don't need another tremolo. I have two tremolos already. I...

My daughter builds the JHS NOTAKLÖN

This is amazing. What a fantastic story, and what a terrific activity to share with your daughter!

    The Abyss build

3D-printed enclosure and knobs? That’s pretty neat!

Woodpecker Tremolo - aka The Rooster

Everybody has a cursed build once in a while (I did a whole build report around a cursed build of my own just a couple of weeks ago) – but, to my eyes, what you ended up with certainly looks like it was worth all the hell you went through. Nice build, and great job on the film free decal! Mike

    No LED with Anvil Fuzz

Cool! If you could, please edit the thread to change the tag in the title to "Solved". Mike

    No LED with Anvil Fuzz

Hard to tell from your picture, but is your LED oriented correctly? Looking with the pots facing you, the flat (cathode or K) side should be on the left.

    DEMO Argent-Blackhat Boojum/GOTA BTF Fuzz

Sigh.....such perfect centering on that decal.

    Woodpecker

Man, I love that bushing on the toggle switch. If quality like that is how you fix your “mistakes”, I really think you should make mistakes more often :-) Mike

    Concrete Jungle BOM?

While it's not the most straightforward path, all of the component values should be printed on the PCB, meaning you can just look at the PCB to determine what parts/values you need. Looking at the picture of the boardon the website, it looks like it may be a buffered bypass pedal, so you may...

    Yet another Kewpie (but shiny!)

Thanks. I know that film free decals can be fragile, which is why I usually use a clearcoat. But I actually had a bit of a surprising discovery this time around. (Don’t get me wrong, I still know it’s prone to scratching and I’m going to be careful with it - luckily, all of my pedals are on a...

    Dark Theme?

Interesting. I don't use the dark mode (not a fan - it actually tires my eyes more than light mode)- but when I logged out and logged back in, the setting had automatically changed to dark mode and I had to go back into my preferences and manually change it back to "default".

    Yet another Kewpie (but shiny!)

I’ve never owned a fuzz. I never wanted a fuzz. I don’t like the sound of fuzzes. But then I heard the demo for the Mayonnaise over in the project wish list forum and, like a lot of people, I was kind of blown away by it. And so here we are. The build was very straightforward. It was actually...

    Painted enclosures - faraday cage?

There may be paint in the screw holes but I think inserting the screws (maybe insert them, screw them all the way in a couple of times to make sure paint is gone out of the hole) is enough for that connection. However, I also always sand the paint off of the inside of the enclosure where the...

I'm completely new to pedal building and small electronics in general, any recommendations on where to start?

Looks like that kit may be out of stock. I would actually recommend finding an equivalent kit at AionFX.com. I had never done anything whatsoever with electronics this time last year and I purchased a kit from them and the documentation was really excellent at helping me identify materials...
