    Triad Distortion

tbh the layout of this pcb with the 3 pots inline at the top is far more desirable (to me) than the usual triangular 3 knob layout, so that’s another win with this board vs the muroidea.

    Blue tac alternative?

i use blue tape. for most mount/hold scenarios. never really got onto the blu-tac thing.

what if you tried a different test method... multimeter and rg keen method works for me every time.

DEMO ‘JMP Super FET’ - Mofeta (EAE Model feT) w/ Super Lead / Plexi inspired mods

hahah you’re all good mate 🤙🏻 enjoy the breadboarding. yeah i probably should have done the on-off-on, but im happy with just 470p.

DEMO ‘JMP Super FET’ - Mofeta (EAE Model feT) w/ Super Lead / Plexi inspired mods

ah crap, you’re right. that’s the value off the multimeter. correct - it’s supposed to be multiplied x10. i’ll fix.

thank you! glad i took my time with this one. all hail the mighty breadboard.

DEMO ‘JMP Super FET’ - Mofeta (EAE Model feT) w/ Super Lead / Plexi inspired mods

ahh cool, that's interesting.... 4.25V doesn't seem too bad... perhaps on the extreme end, but maybe it just works for the FETs they used. perhaps something like that, not entirely sure on the rationale, but Q1 = bright channel, Q2 = normal channel, and Q3 is the common 2nd stage. (Q4 fixed). i...

DEMO ‘JMP Super FET’ - Mofeta (EAE Model feT) w/ Super Lead / Plexi inspired mods

ay cheers 🤘 what i’ve done here is entirely derivative, so i didn’t really feel that annotating another schematic to claim as my own set of mods was that necessary or warranted. maybe one day when i have an ‘original’ idea lol. if you’re like me and find yourself doubting and wondering about...

DEMO ‘JMP Super FET’ - Mofeta (EAE Model feT) w/ Super Lead / Plexi inspired mods

yep, that’s right. exactly why i did it this way. already got a lot of options for doom tones, and channel II is still pretty fat, so I don’t really feel like i’ve missed much by deviating into marshall specs. FET specs: (MMBF5457) supply @ 8.98V voltage from chargepump: 16.73V Vp /...

DEMO ‘JMP Super FET’ - Mofeta (EAE Model feT) w/ Super Lead / Plexi inspired mods

initially inspired by the mods described in this thread, i wanted to explore some plexi / super lead inspired values/mods with the Mofeta board. so i started off by breadboarding the Mofeta as per the schematic in the build doc. sounds pretty good. then I tried the mods seen in the annotated...

DEMO EffectsLayouts EF120 Overdrive (Dunwich Amps DA120) ‘Matamp GT120 in a box’

heck yes!🤘 this right here. i might be full of shit here, but IME when dialling JFETs for a distortion circuit, I've always felt that it should be possible (and perhaps necessary) to have a relatively nice 'clean' early on in the gain range. just like a real amp would. (i.e. MIG50, JCM800...

i bought the peak adapter. it works as it should. it’s not cheap but better and quicker than figuring something else out.

    Spirit Box CLipping

well, usually it’s a lot easier to swap out the PT2399 (when most people socket these), as compared to changing a soldered in resistor. i’m only suggesting R9 as an option to look at if trying different PT2399s doesn’t resolve the noise/clipping issue

    Spirit Box CLipping

@jwin615 maybe EQD borked this one too? just went through all the bs associated with the eqd space spiral / dark rift. fixed now, but wtf EQD. basically, the input resistor into the PT2399 after the input buffer was too small (clipping the PT2399). dark rift spirit box maybe R9 on the...
