6 Band EQ - Slider pot question...

Bump on this topic! I just picked up this board as well and cannot find the spec'd part.

Tape Machine Multi Head Delay with video demo

Makes sense! Thank you! So use an on/on for sure then. If I want to add an LED then SPDT on/on? :)

SOLVED Electrovibe Deadish - Part Deux

Very helpful, as always! Thank you. The pedal is sounding pretty dang good right now! I have it sitting in an ESD bag now waiting for the enclosure to show up. I am going to keep it simple and do the faceplate plus the grey matte enclosure like you did. Simple and chill -- the vibes are in the...

SOLVED Electrovibe Deadish - Part Deux

I'll socket the resistor (R4) and play around with some values. But I will start off with your 2M2 and see if that nails it for me! Did you find getting a matched pair of speed pots balanced out the speed or provided any benefit to unmatched?

Tape Machine Multi Head Delay with video demo

hey @cooder I just finished by base build of this pedal. How do I do your dry mod to a stock hydra board? Lift the third leg of the pot out of the board and run a jumper between the switch and the board? Switch off: signal passes to leg three Switch on: signal passes through switch to the...

SOLVED Electrovibe Deadish - Part Deux

I think it's this post: https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/electrovibe-big-monk.8576/page-2 and the value is 47k to 100k

SOLVED Electrovibe Deadish - Part Deux

Okay okay! I think I have it figured out, though I do want to get a better C100k pot installed that is more closely matched to the other. Matched speeds would be groovy. I cleaned the heck out of it, removed the C100k's and re-flowed all of the heretofore un-touched blobs. I laid down a double...

SOLVED Electrovibe Deadish - Part Deux

Yes sir! I cover that whole piece of the board in black electrical tape.

SOLVED Electrovibe Deadish - Part Deux

Will do. Does it make sense that the C100k pots are reading so low in the circuit? ~4k on the dial with almost no wiggle room seems unusual to me. Shorting maybe?

SOLVED Electrovibe Deadish - Part Deux

Howdy folks, As I've moved on to other testing and troubleshooting for the nifty Electrovibe I'm running into some new problems. Namely, the "intensity" of the vibrato and chorus are basically not present. I have followed the DK Pedals tweaking method (here) and the Madbean Pedal Harbinger...

    SOLVED Hydra - Deadish?

Re-flowed the solder on the VF1 and that did it. I also gently pressed the iron onto the leg and consequently onto the board. I think that helped a lot too. I was able to get amazing sounds kit of this thing. This is the sickest delay I’ve ever heard. It’s inspiring to play. Tapestries of...

    SOLVED Hydra - Deadish?

Thank you Robert! I’ll start with re-flow on the VF1 and then try some of the other troubleshooting and also this as a last restart. I have an audio probe built so I just have to haul my amp into the garage. I need a Blackstar Fly3 to keep on my bench so I don’t have to move my 69’ Princeton...

    SOLVED Hydra - Deadish?

Definitely have output dry and wet. Just no effect. Makes me think it has to be the VF-1 or the EPROM? Will re-flow just to re-check!

    SOLVED Hydra - Deadish?

Hello team PPCB! I just finished my Hydra build last night. Sick looking pedal and pretty easy to put together except that VF-1 chip. Man that was fun to solder on. I dipped the feet in flux and used a wide "blade" tip and that seemed to really work well and make the job easy. Okay, so, why is...

    SOLVED Electrovibe - Deadish?

Guitar cable tip was touching the ground pad for itself on the board. I'm using a test box and it's sizing is all janked up. Fixed that bit. Now I have output. Chorus and Vibrato and sickeningly weak but I haven't had a chance to really play with the trimmers. The DK Pedals video has some good...

    SOLVED Electrovibe - Deadish?

Now the pedal has no output so I’ll have to do some more investigating. Hah! It’s never ending. Will report back.

    SOLVED Electrovibe - Deadish?

Problem solved! I re-wired the switch using the guide above. Both LEDs work now. I used a 180R instead of 4K7 to get some more brightness on diffuser blues.

    SOLVED Electrovibe - Deadish?

I’m still not sure what is going on. Vibrato and chorus work though chorus is a little weak. Most likely because I don’t have the pedal totally sealed from light. Just have some black electrical tape over the sensors. The LED for speed is barely visible except when I mash my thumb down on the...

    SOLVED Electrovibe - Deadish?

Hello! Thanks for all of the great advice. I have not yet measured the voltage on both sides of the resistor. What I did see is that on the side of the resistor closet to the LED it's only getting ~ 0.549vdc. How does one measure both sides of the resistor? Point A to ground and Point B to...
