    Loafing Lounge

This was from a while ago. Clark Gainster. I really need to start developing a neatness strategy, and making a breakout board to handle the potentiometers. Apparently this direct-to-breadboard idea isn't smart. I also ordered some proper jumper wires since then.

Of course, fuzz was maxed out. Volume was maybe 2 or 3 o'clock. Maybe I'll breadboard your version once my Microboard parts come in.

SOLVED Twin Face - Si/NPN side, odd Q2 voltage?

OK @Coda I finally got a chance to plug a telecaster into it. The fuzz sounds pretty quiet compared to the germanium side, and it's very gated. It loses so much attack that it almost sounds like a fade/in reverse effect.

    Sandspur

I built two of these - one with BC108 and one with BC109. I can hardly tell a difference. Haven't thought of mixing and matching transistors in the same circuit though. But if I put either in front of a little bit of clean boost, I'm playing straight out of Dark Side of the Moon.

Da, Comrade, The Soviet Horse Muscle! (Ungula)

Thanks! I had built a War Scythe previously using the recommended 2N1308 transistors. It sounded good. I wasn't interested in the cleft modifications since I didn't like the sound of the Cloven Hoof demos I had seen online.

No idea. I'll have to try that part later.

SOLVED Twin Face - Si/NPN side, odd Q2 voltage?

I never thought it would come to this. Posting on the Troubleshooting forum for a Fuzz Face of all things. I guess that's the price you pay when your EE professor never figured out how to explain transistors clearly. Tried to set trimmers before plugging in this Twin Face for an audio test. Q2...

Happy accident that I found that angle. Bob Ross would be proud.

So, when I first tried out the EQD Hoof pedal, which the internet absolutely swears by, I was actually pretty underwhelmed by it. I was much more enamored with the EHX Op Amp Big Muff, which I ended up buying (my first pedal in at least 12 years.) Between then and now (honestly, a span of maybe...

    Solid Vs Stranded Wire

Most of my wire is solid 22 AWG. I strip off the insulation between the board and the 3PDT breakout board to make it look cool. For longer connections, I use 24 or 22 AWG prebonded stranded from Smallbear. Which I think is what @cooder is talking about.

    TUTORIAL Amentum Boost

This is great. I've been breadboarding here and there, but I always like to see how other people do it - you never know when you'll learn some cool tips and tricks to try out!

    New mini-breadboard

Is there an "electrical" servo? Because google is apparently not my friend today.

Wait, a motorized fuzz? I'm confused.

Actually the opposite. Whenever I don't use soap, my impedance increases.

UV Printing/Drilling/Faceplates through AmplifyFun (Tayda alternative)

I'm just commenting because I want to see any further developments on this thread. You know, if it ends up blowing up like the Tayda thread.

    Let's talk about wah pedals

No idea. I've never owned a wah pedal so I don't know how they're assembled.

    Let's talk about wah pedals

I've heard from multiple places that those don't have tapped holes. So buyer beware. (I don't have any taps and I've never done it before.)
