modding the informant... input needed :-)

that's cool, and super informative. I love the same mod in some of my other drives, so i might have to try this. Also considering a "no diodes" area of the switch as well. That might handle my "less grit" desire for the ruetz mod. Assuming this would just need a ON/ON/ON with 1n9124's on...

modding the informant... input needed :-)

Well it seems like the traditional Ruetz is out. Not into adding a new RC path just to clip bits of it out for fun. voice might be cool and I have enough from this to try it out and see how it sounds. I'm down to hear about the bass knob. I'll have a little space then i anticipated if one of...

modding the informant... input needed :-)

Thanks for clearing up the diode switch. Can I still pull it off with antiparallel 1n914's across the middle, germie's on the bottom, Led's on the top (leaving the middle stock)? room shouldn't be an issue. (hopefully) Same leads running to D1 from from the middle two lugs like i posted (the...

modding the informant... input needed :-)

that is wild.... I'll consider it if there's room. I have something similar in a rat build from way back in the day. from my understanding with the diagram i have (on/on DPDT on/on with diodes on each end) I can use an ON/ON/ON wired the exact same with diodes in the middle, just need to...

modding the informant... input needed :-)

built a few of these stock. like the sounds. attempting a relay switched soft touch version like the real deal this weekend. I'm considering making one in a larger 1590bb with some mods. Here's what I'm thinking, and I'd be down for any feedback or knowledge. 1.) diode clipping on a switch...

    informant buffered bypass question.

You guys are the best. Supreme. EDIT: works like a charm. Good sounding buffer. Not ideal to add one in well after you built, but i didn't have to pull the board or anything :-)

    informant buffered bypass question.

this layout i came up with isn't right. Anybody got a suggestion?

    informant buffered bypass question.

I'm terrible at graphics sorry about the crayola quality. Is this what im looking for? I feel like i don't have the switch wired right in my "mockup" I'm not sure what to do with the footswitch as the wiring layout for both versions is significantly different.

    informant buffered bypass question.

checked the ole shoebox and I have one! On On correct? Is there a diagram for this anywhere? I def understand how to run the buffered output from the board to the switch but im not sure how the switch itself should be wired with whatever is coming from the toggle.

    informant buffered bypass question.

Sometimes this pedal is in a chain with a klon, sometimes it's not. I was considering kicking this over to the buffered wiring, but before i did.... Do any of you guys have a clever way to put the buffer on a switch? Looking at how diff the switch wiring is for each option... It doesn't look...

    Teach me buffered bypass :-/

love these madbean writeups. Thanks for sending along. Makes perfect sense. Excited to mess with relayed switching for the first time. I have a big loop switcher I'd love to overhaul with the softies. I just ordered a bunch of the relay boards. Not seeing any build docs anywhere to build...

    Teach me buffered bypass :-/

solid. i got confused. I have a bunch of those. Went through a phase where i was rehousing my buddies dd-20's like a sadist. :-/ not seeing a BOM on any of these. Those hiding somewhere?

    Teach me buffered bypass :-/

thanks for the rundown. There's a lot of room in these 125b's since im not using battery snaps. Anybody who rolls soft touch have switch suggestions? I'm assuming since i need SPDT (6 lugs) all the soft touch stuff i have with two lugs is out. Whats the best switch on the market for...

    Teach me buffered bypass :-/

Thanks :) So as I understand it, I can use the same 3pdt switch i have now and an extra wire from the board to use the built in buffer when the effect is off. (built in feature of the informant). I'll still have the same tactile feel to the switch obviously, but I'll be able to utilize the...

    Teach me buffered bypass :-/

I built the informant.(and I really, REALLY dig it) Like all my other builds I built it True Bypass. I don't have a buffer in this board I'm currently running on. I usually have a klon somewhere in the chain, but i replaced it with a SHO. I played my buddies real deal DRV the other day...

    Simulcast resistor sub question.

well.... i measured a bunch of them and found a 470 that reads at 456. that's what i went with. we'll see :-)

    Simulcast resistor sub question.

so... 450r resistors are rare as hens teeth. Can't even find them on ebay. I have 430r and 470r here. Gonna meter and see whats close. Looking at the schematic it shouldn't make a HUGE diff. Do i go lower or higher here? Any suggestion? Knowing how hard 450r is to find I'm sure some of...

    duocast issues

I keep tellin myself it was next to a 5k6. and the color band is a brown vs red thing on ONE band..... sigh. It was hard to spot too. I always do the resistors, sockets and caps out of my "stash" at home before i even order the specific parts. So it sat on my desk wrong for WEEKS before i did...
