    Tube dampener rings

Thanks for the replies. I have a couple on order with fingers crossed. Also ordered up a 6L6 to try in this little beasty. The folks at Swart seem to lean towards trying different tubes to find one that doesn’t rattle, but as good as their amps are, I imagine it is hard to mitigate it in such a...

    Tube dampener rings

At 44 cents a piece (not including shipping) they aren’t going to break the bank.

    Tube dampener rings

Legit cure for tube rattle or snake oil? My Swart 6v6se has some wicked rattle that I’d like to put in check.

    Even more new Tayda colors!

An update on the neon yellow. It just drilled my enclosure and though not nearly as bad as some of the colors/finishes available I did get a few more chips than I would normally You can see it by the LED bezel. Nothing major, but use a little extra caution.

    Fuzzy Recommendations

Skreddy Screwdriver (MBP Cosmopolitan) or Lunar Module (PPCB Fuzz Aldrin). Prefer the Cosmopolitan, but you may not want to have to go digging for an NPN Ge transistor.

    Kazoo (ChickenWing Audio content 🫦)

Hot off @steviejr92 CNC and brake I saw these and needed one. Not really wanting to go down the Ge tranny circuit rabbit hole to build what it was intended to emulate I opted for a Kazoo instead. The Kazoo is a simple but unique fuzz that I just really like. The only change from stock is that I...

    SOLVED Cordyceps Clean Signal Only

To be on the side of caution, recheck everything one (maybe 2) more time(s) before dropping the new chip in so as to avoid potentially damaging a second chip. I say that because my 1st troubleshooting thread was an Abyss that took me looking over the components way too many times to finally...

    SOLVED Cordyceps Clean Signal Only

That would be my suspicion anyways, but for the sake of due diligence, try reflowing your solder joints and make sure there are no whisker bridges anywhere

    SOLVED Cordyceps Clean Signal Only

With an 8.6v source the 1044 voltages match mine close enough. However, presuming your voltages readings on the 565 are pin 1-14 measured/listed counter clockwise, you are reading way hotter than mine. pin 1 on mine is -5.5, 4/5 are 2.4, 6/7 are 4.4v, 10 is 5.9. I audio probed my 565 and get...

    SOLVED Cordyceps Clean Signal Only

I would verify voltage from the charge pump and then audio probe the 565 chip. Here is a pinout diagram I found on the web Looks like you should get some sort of output on pins 4/6/7, but don’t quote me on that

    SOLVED Cordyceps Clean Signal Only

Did you verify the orientation of the vactrol, specifically the LED side since the LDR is unpolarized.

    Newbie

Welcome to the forum and building in general. It’s not so much whether a particular project is easy/fool proof or not, but more ab learning a good, effective workflow. Just look at the troubleshooting section, plenty of “easy” projects end up there because the build process was……lacking. First...

    Even more new Tayda colors!

Just got this the other day. Shitty lighting but did a light and dark background. It is def a highlighter yellow with tinge of green. Akin to a 90’s neon yellow

    Suboctave Pedals

It is coming from Sweden. That said, it if it ain’t your jam then you do you. I can also recommend the Madbean glitchee and the PPCB Octarock is awesome. The Ocelot (boss OC-2) is a classic

    Suboctave Pedals

Can’t talk glitchy octave weirdness without a nod to https://www.parasitstudio.se/ The PPCB Heterodyne or Flock are good for some weird

    Looking for some feedback!!!

I tend to favor higher contrast stuff so the blue vein does it for me. Yellow is pretty cool. Red has a leather-esque look to it that some might dig. But if you are trying to get a feel for what sells, at least offer 1 of the red and then gather your data based on demand

    SOLVED Danae - Dropped it

So not sure how this physically landed (butter side down or not if you will), but have you checked all the switches and pots to make sure the shafts/toggles didn’t get jammed into the works and lose continuity?

in search of: simple preamp to embed in cab sim + DI box

Dead simple DI I pilfered from another build report here and used in my unicab build. https://tataylino.com/simple-di-box/#google_vignette Works well with my acoustic rig. As far as a pre maybe consider the frequency interchange, simple eq and gain

    Kazoo horn switch

Is the Kazoo Horn switch really an SPDT on/off/on? Looking at the schematic it really doesn’t appear to be offering 3 options. The last one I did way back when I think I just used an on/on and that seems to match with the demos I’ve seen.
