Seabed / AION Vector - clipping

5mm or 3mm doesnt matter. But with the led correctly oriented, the pt2399 chip shouldnt distort at all really.

Seabed / AION Vector - clipping

Does the led (d2) light up when the signal is clipping? Are you sure it is oriented correctly?

Anybody played a Dan Drive Tweedy 5B3 pedals?

    £369 ?! Hahaha and I feel guilty when I sell my pedals €130-140 o_O

Looks like a Red Llama with a tone control

    Dark Rift Repeats distorting... Sometimes

Try a green led from pin 7 of the pt2399 to ground. It acts as a crude limiter that prevents clipping. Jon Patton invented it. It works very well in my experience!

    hahaha same here :D

    Seabed delay quick question

If I use an inline resistor I generally use 22r or 47r. Sometimes if the circuit is really noisy, 100r and a 100uf cap can cure it. But yeah, careful with the balance between current and voltage drop, you're right.

    Seabed delay quick question

if you have anything between 33r and 100r it'll be fine. The Rat for exemple uses a 47r there I think. Pretty standard value.

EHX "Freeze": Effect Knob Too Sensitive

D taper? 🤔 Yeah without knowing anything Id try a 47k or 100k resistor between lug 2 & 3 of the pot and see what happens. And if its doesnt change anything try the same thing between lug 1 & 3.

EHX "Freeze": Effect Knob Too Sensitive

Whats the taper of the pot? Lin (50kB), log (50kA)?

    Son of Ben switcharoo

I like it with C5 on a switch. About 20-30% less gain, so if you’re into low gain you’ll probably like it too Also I usually dont populate C10.

Over and over :) Tommy to Jan Ray

Its a good gain pot value. Log is better than lin. The Timmy v2 used A1M. Go for it!

Yep, I was about to say the same thing!

Why won't the Spirit Box (Ghost Echo) oscillate?

There already is a feedback section in the Ghost Echo. If yours doesnt oscillate when you crank the « dwell » knob, try and reduce R8 (22k) :)

Kliché Mini - Low Gain, Very Loud

Yes, an audio probe is easy to build and extremely useful. Did you already post voltages? Does the treble pot work as expected? Could you try a pair of back to back diodes (germanium or schottky - bat46, bat41) in parallel with one of the Ge diodes? Just to see if you get distortion with a...

Kliche Mini - Very Loud Output

    Dual 100kB for gain, 10kB for treble yes :) A = Audio / logarithmic B = linear

Kliche Mini - Very Loud Output

I always use A10k instead of B10k for volume in a Klon for that reason. You should try it :)

    Pendulum Harmonic Tremolo

Very nice build! I wonder about the HPF section of the pendulum. It seems the cutoff frequency is 1950Hz, which seems very high, as I remember both the Cardinal and the Twin Peaks tremolos use a cutoff frequency of about 750Hz The LPF section seems a bit more standard (400Hz, the cutoff chosen...

Another Hydra delay (with a tweak)

Hey, sorry Im not gonna be very helpful, I can't remember what I did, and I didn't take notes. I think I based the electra circuit on the JTM from tagboard, don't know if it's the same schematic as the pedalpcb one. Maybe try and change the diodes to diodes with a higher threshold, like 1N4148...
