    Maleficent Mids low headroom

I made sure its not amp OD by testing over the Direct Montitor on my audiointerface. Also the distortion it produces sounds way more unpleasant :D Maybe my pickups are just way hotter than yours. With my Humbuckers I cant even get to unity gain when I want to increase the mids by a good amount...

    Good to know, thank you!

    Maleficent Mids low headroom

If the headroom is that low, it's much less usable for me, more of a niche thing than a always on thing.... I thought about trying it with higher voltage, but I do not want to grill it ;)

the insulation is fine :) For the IC swap, I dont have alternatives unfortunately

    Maleficent Mids low headroom

Do you mean test other ICs? Thats a good idea, I dont have the same models, but I will try others.

    Maleficent Mids low headroom

Thanks for the comments, however, I thought that indications whether the pedal behaves normally is enough for now. But I will of course also upload a photo.

    Maleficent Mids low headroom

Hi guys, I recently got the (Haunting Mids) on the board. I built it to have an always-on tone-shaping tool. However, I've noticed that the pedal tends to distort even at low guitar volume, especially when you boost the mids. Even with single coils it already distorts from about 60% guitar...

    Frequency Interchange HPF adjustment

So chinless, the way I understand this we have to change C5 and C6 for 10nF (or 15nF in my case). But I am not sure here like I said, did you figure it out?

    Frequency Interchange HPF adjustment

Thank you! If I want to get in Tube Screamer HPF territory with a max cut off feq of around 720Hz, it would be enough to change C5+C6 to 15nF right? I find HPFs somewhat confusing, sorry 😅 Edit: mixed up something

SOLVED Hylian Fuzz orientation of transistors Q2, Q6

Hi, thanks for the quick and helpful answer. Is it always the case that the emitter is next to the tab, the base next to emitter and the collector below the base? For NPN and PNP the same?

SOLVED Hylian Fuzz orientation of transistors Q2, Q6

Hi, I'm Diego and I'm new here. And I need your help: What is the right orientation of the Q2 (2N2907A, PNP) and the Q6 (2N2222A, NPN)? Or more precice, where do base, emitter and collector go? Usually that would be no problem to find out but these are in a triangle, so I'm a bit clueless right...
