    Pauper - Whacky Voltages

I have tried several 1N5817's. How I would test D5 outside of the circuit?

    Pauper - Whacky Voltages

I am getting odd voltage reading on this build. On the 5817 diode, I am getting 9.44V going in. When I check the voltage coming out, it slowly increments up to around 135 mV coming out. R12 matches this voltage and R13 is roughly half of R12, and pin 5 on the IC is roughly equal to R13. If I...

What strings do you guys use?

I'm lazy. Ernie Ball .08's. At one point I ran 11's on my Tele, tuned down a half step. But then I got wise. The only one that can tell what gauge the guitar is strung with, is the player.

    Beginner looking for advice

Start with a build that doesn't have a lot of parts. Reading the build list and sourcing the correct values and quantities is 90% of the project. The other half is correctly placing components/value and soldering. You will likely have shipping costs to consider as you will have at least two...

    SOLVED Magnetron Very Low Output

Bingo. I was using alligator clips to connect power. After I soldered on a proper connector the issue went away. Lesson learned.

    SOLVED Magnetron Very Low Output

Yeah, the weaker signal on pin 1 is what is throwing me. But at the same time the rate LED isn't lighting up too. Likely the two are related.

    SOLVED Magnetron Very Low Output

He wanted a foot switch that has a light around the base. He also wanted the rate LED to only be on when the effect is on.

    SOLVED Magnetron Very Low Output

Yes, working just fine. So good my brother wants to buy it, but wanted in a different enclosure and LED's arranged differently. Lit foot switch for on/off and rate light off when unit is off.

    SOLVED Magnetron Very Low Output

That is where I left it. I tried texting with it in various positions. No difference was made.

    SOLVED Magnetron Very Low Output

I had this working just fine but needed to put it in a different enclosure. After removing it and hooking up power the Rate LED does not receive power and there is virtually no output. Using a audio probe, on IC1, pin 2 I am getting a good strong signal. On pin 1 of IC1, the output is half of...

    Magnetron not working (again)

Did you get this resolved? I have the same issue.

SOLVED Awful Waffle Drive Effects Tone

Is this a general rule or just this circuit? Thanks for the info!

SOLVED Awful Waffle Drive Effects Tone

The issue I have with the insulated jacks is the tension they apply to the plug tip is minimal. If my pedals aren't arranged just right on the pedal board, the patch cables will pop out. This is only an issue when I am swapping out pedals or rearranging pedals. It's a PITA regardless.

    Awful Waffle

The jack doesn't maintain a solid connection. I'm not completely done with the enclosure, but will post updates when it is finished.

    Awful Waffle

Pretty straightforward build, but I have a knack for finding ways to screw things up that exist outside the standard deviations. That said, I can not emphasis enough to avoid the generic innie DC jacks from Tayda. Just don't do it. I am going to use a different DC jack, so disregard the lack...

SOLVED Awful Waffle Drive Effects Tone

Never mind. With the circuit outside the enclosure it has no issues. I'll update when I discover the culprit.

SOLVED Awful Waffle Drive Effects Tone

As I turn the drive past 3 o'clock, the drive increases but the control acts like a low pass filter. All the way open tone is muffled and bassy. I've checked all resistor values and cap values. Everything checks out. Thoughts?

    Electrovibe capacitors

I'm stocking up on parts for this build. Going with Nichicon and Panasonic 50V electrolytics.
