    Is it the common practice to ground the shield at the "signal source" side of the wire run? I've heard that in tube amp construction, and have used that technique when running shielded wires.

    I've used these multicolored solid and stranded packs of different gauges. It's handy and gives you more options to color code your wire setup, I get too confused seeing 300 wires that are all the same color stuffed into an enclosure. I haven't had any issues!
