I only built 7 in 2024, so picking a top 5 would be most of them. I'll just name the one that I think is notably awesome: the Chop Shop.

I think removing the finish would be a pain and not worth the effort. Also, I'm skeptical it would improve the tone or feel.

Octagon is just an Arachnid board with an EEPROM. Arachnid has no EEPROM included, so you'd have to order one of the existing ones, or get the custom one (or create your own programs).

I don't have a lot of flanger experience, but building the effectslayout pocket comb (based on Ibanez FL9) was very satisfying.

This is the one I have, and it is good for me. I like the tone and level controls because I can filter out some of the highs for a deeper sounding chorus and make it pretty subtle. I haven't built a chorus yet, but I have a Sea Horse PCB waiting to be built.

it will depend on the circuit and the role of the cap in that circuit to know how important it is, but you can definitely add capacitors in parallel to get the value you need.
