    DEMO Ragin' Cajun-sheepylove/GotA joint production

I opened up my Behringer UT300 and it uses a THAT2181 equivalent. The 2181 is single VCA, where-as the original 5207 is dual VCA with one unused. Dunno if it's drop-in replacement, but I wouldn't be surprised.

    DEMO Ragin' Cajun-sheepylove/GotA joint production

There's a limited use-case for these, since the ICs are unobtanium and no viable alternative exists. Do you have the IC or just stocking up on boards? The board itself does warrant another layout because it's too long (an early layout) and needs offboard wiring. I can always open source it...

Do you pay any attention to Capacitor ‘Life’ ratings?

https://www.lcsc.com/product-detail/C106448.html That’s a 1u. You can filter by package size for others. The smaller ones are limited by voltage rating but they’re good enough for what we need and a lot easier than messing around with SMD legs. The 1.5mm leg spacing works with a 2.5mm footprint.

Do you pay any attention to Capacitor ‘Life’ ratings?

You can get 25V electrolytics at 4x6mm up to 100uf and then 5x7 for 100uf pretty easily these days. I recommend stocking on the smaller packages when you buy.

Roland AP-7 Jet Phaser - let's get it working! (Aion FX Octatron)

I spent a lot more time than I'd like to admit troubleshooting a SMD footprint where my component tester was showing the source & drain as being swapped..

DEMO The Everlasting Tantrum - an enhanced DOD Grindhaus Fuzz

I found blue is the best LED, with red and orange coming second. Other colours just didn't really cut it for me.

Nice, what value CLR have you got there? I tend to go for 3k3 or 3k6 (depending on which is easier to get out) and it works well.

    PCB RFC - Grindhaus Fuzz

On the plus side, if you mess it up then you can just make the holes bigger and nobody will see!

    PCB RFC - Grindhaus Fuzz

Nice! I always avoided full size faceplates because it’s harder to get all the holes drilled perfect. I am a speed over perfection guy (and lover) though.

Or EU regulations. I love their protections as a consumer, but it does make selling a lot more complicated.

You don’t understand. It uses a special power supply..

    What's on the workbench?

This is where things should at in terms of innovation. I guess when you're powering an Arduino, then using non-latching relays doesn't make much difference to the power consumption! Gotta love the melted caps. It seems like an awful lot of extra effort when the inevitable is.. inevitable.

Getting a PCB made from a gerber

If you're learning a new tool, I'd go the Kicad route instead of DipTrace, especially if you're working on Mac or want to do anything graphics related.
