It's nice to standardise the IO if you ever want to share the board with others.

This was my attempt a while back.

The most useful tool I have is the template I got from a Gerber from @finebyfine (I can’t find it on mobile). Same as a template enclosure but it’s a PCB. Add a relay or footswitch to some pogo pins and you have a great tool to rock before/if you box.

Your input and output cross over each other. If you have a high gain signal then that could introduce oscillation.

LCSC is a great option. The minimum shipping price rose, but it's still cost effective if you are getting mainstream parts.

I’ll use a faceplate where the fourth “knob” is a transparent logo backlit by the indicator LED. Same approach like the Sacrificial Lamb which I’ve done for a few pedals.

Thanks for sharing Dave. The FX-53 was my first pedal as a youngster. It’s interesting as a base for modding, but I could never shake the mediocre sound.

Lovely build. In general, you’ll find it a tight fit if there are three knobs horizontally.

Pre population is the way. None of us are getting younger, and these eyes ain’t what they used to be.

Less complexity with the audio path seems a pretty good to me. This thread even got me playing a KoT clone. Looking forward to getting this onto the BB. Thanks Dave.
