Found the culprit.

Out of curiosity, can anyone point me to an explanation of what causes hiss in an audio signal? Like is it RF interference/byproduct of an amplification stage/something else? Honestly, I’m not really sure what I’m asking. It seems like there are some interesting things to learn though.

Honestly it may be as simple as turning the trim pot until you get sound. Mine had kind of a narrow range where things worked.

No worries! I feel you. The letters at the front are manufacturer codes, except when they aren’t. The letters at the end typically don’t matter, except when they do. You can pretty much count on DIP packaging for through hole ICs, unless it’s SIP. NJM and JRC are the same company. 😭😱😬

A 125B 2-in-1! Paper Scratcher fuzz with a footswitch mounted green ringer style octave from Effects Layouts. These two circuits work together so nicely to create all kinds of mayhem. Also added a TRS insert so I can run them into separate loops if I use it with my switcher.

Didn’t have enough OPA2134s, so I popped a couple of TL072s in there. It sounds great! Should I even bother shelling out for the expensive opamps?
