SOLVED No sound from Caesar Chorus

    Double-checked that pot wasn’t touching the switch. Here are the pin voltages. All of the 0v pins have ground connectivity. IC1 (TL022) ————— 1. Around 0.5v - 8.5v * 2. Around 4.5v. Didn’t stabilize 3. Around 2.5v - 6.5v * 4. 0v 5. Around 4.5. Didn’t stabilize 6. 3.0v 7. Around 2.5v - 6.5v *...

SOLVED No sound from Caesar Chorus

That was a good spot @vladimirsky, but sadly a new opamp didn’t help. @zgrav when you say to check the voltages on the IC pins, you mean just measure voltage from ground to each pin? So I’d power it up, but not plug anything into input, and just measure volts with a DMM? Sorry for the noob...

SOLVED No sound from Caesar Chorus

This might be the first pedal that I’ve gotten no output from (after remembering to pop the ICs into their sockets). I cleaned with ISO and did a visual inspection, but I’m stumped. I guess I should try an audio probe next, but there’s no schematic posted. Hoping that someone notices something...

SOLVED Six String Stinger sounds terrible

Aha! I’ll remember that for next time. Do you just flow the solder in from the component side?

SOLVED Six String Stinger sounds terrible

Ok! I think it’s working as designed now. It sounded much better after swapping out one of the JFETs, and even better after I removed the sockets and soldered them in. The difference there really surprised me! I’m still hearing just a touch of crackling buzziness that eventually fades out, but...

SOLVED Six String Stinger sounds terrible

Hrm. Yeah just watched some YouTube videos. The general EQ sounds similar, but the clipping on mine just sounds way worse. I’ll try music6000’s suggestions.

SOLVED Six String Stinger sounds terrible

So, to be honest here, this is my 16th or so build, and it’s the first one where I tried it out and thought, “That just flat out sounds bad.” Not sure what’s up, but the overdrive is very unpleasant - when you turn it up far enough to get overdrive it just kind of farts out. Not musical at all...

Converting Drill Templates to Coordinates for Tayda Drill Service

I’m curious about this too! I did one by printing it out and measuring with a ruler, but surely there’s a better way. 🙂

Looks amazing! I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think you may have swapped the labels of Tone and Magic. They’re in different positions on the PedalPCB board then they are on the EQD pedal.

    Cataclysm Delay

Another film-free waterslide on a Tayda enclosure. Sounds cool! I might have to look into a PT2399 tap tempo controller.

    possible to have XLR in/out?

I went on a search for something like this last year 🙂. It’s possible, but you will need some additional electronics to convert from balanced to unbalanced and back again. Depending on the tolerance of your effects, you may also need to convert impedance and level to what they’d expect. If...

    Glory Hole Overdrive

Thanks! There’s some spots where the toner didn’t adhere. They’re mostly hidden underneath the knobs though. I think I may be rushing the first heat treatment. For color decals I definitely recommend using a white or cream colored enclosures. I didn’t have as good results on a red one. I’m...

    Glory Hole Overdrive

I’m really happy with how this one turned out! Huge thanks to @thewintersoldier for the No Film Waterslide tutorial. I don’t quite have the technique all worked out yet, but I’m having a ton of fun with it.
