Phase inverting at input buffer vs after effect

Moonn Space Is Fun - Deluxe Edition

If you look at the schematic, the fuzz control is merely a gain control for the last op amp stage before the output. It relies merely on clipping that op amp which means it'll boost the volume like crazy before going into an ugly distortion. Also the dry path for some reason is crazy dark sounding.

Moonn Space Is Fun - Deluxe Edition

That's because it's a really stupid design since death by audio are total hacks when it comes to circuit design.

    Yes. 9V bipolar is 18V

    Valhalla with charge pump?

You won't gain anything from trying to hack on another charge pump. The power supply of the VH4 pedal is a stupid design really. If you want to run it more effectivel from 9V, just don't install the regulator, jumper its in and output and it will run at around 18V internally.

Phase inverting at input buffer vs after effect

Your main issue will be misbiasing as you'll have resistors and pots on either end of the op amp going to ground (on the input only if you put another pedal in that lool) but your inverter is biased to virtual ground.

Phase inverting at input buffer vs after effect

Oh you will totally have issues without coupling caps around the inverting stage...

Plaid Preamp - bass and gain 1

While this MIGHT help I'd go ahead and simulate it. With these types of tonestacks you might end up just setting the cutoff frequency lower which may counterintuitively result in even less perceived changes to the low end and more mid scoop.

    Blend Knob for Promethium?

No need to add another 2 buffers to a build that already has input and output buffers... Add a capacitor into lug 3 of a 100K pot here: ... and connect a cap from lug 2 here: Lug 1 goes to ground. ALTERNATIVELY, you can make a "faux EQ blend" by replacing R29 here with a pot, e.g. A5K...

need some help for my modification - treble booster with clean blend

This one might sound horrible with the buffer up front I'm afraid, also not sure how much sense it makes AND you'd definitely need to flip the phase back on the clean part. I'd rather just do a treble booster with the range and maybe a tone control and the heat/gain externally so you can vary...

    Best potentiometer

Are they really that different before you put the knobs on though? If the knob is sitting too low, it can cause the stiffness. Always slightly raise them away from the enclosure before screwing them tight.

Opamps for Dummies - part 5

Why choose the LM358 which is hardly if ever used in pedals for anything else than LFO if I may ask? Also disagree that it isn't great for high gain, depending on what sort of high gain you're after. Other than some of its nasty crossover clipping behavior, I thought it sounds great for sludgy...

Do you say that because you actually have a real LM308 that you could compare it to or because you watched some clips?
