@owlexifry - can you tell us about that (instrument?) cable for the jacks you used? why'd you go that route? glad you solved the issues you were running into! it's such a thrill to finally have that ahHA moment.

I could be wrong, but I think it was the Thermionic Distortion only because it's SKU is PCB001. Kinda fun to look up the first twenty or so. You can search for PCBs by their SKU, too. I think we're in the 400s now!

Resistors - When I started, I just bought all 1/8 w resistors so I'd never have to squeeze the larger 1/4 w ones into a board, or keep two types of resistor sizes around. Made my life easier a handful of times already. Capacitors - here's a good thread about different cap types Basic Workflow...

Dumb question, but worth asking - was your IC in when trying out the pedal?

Wow - thanks for the rapid response, buddy! Yep - I got plenty of spare caps and resistors but don't have spare pots. I don't know about you folks, but I usually buy pots in the exact quantity that I need and buy caps/res in bulk.

For me, depends on where I got them from. Tayda's felt a little rickety and sticky... I saw a few people recommend the one's that look identical from LMS (thinline lumberg). The LMS one's feel way sturdier in the builds I've made with them. Others have mentioned going for the costlier off-board...

Not an expert, but some forum searching led me to these three recent posts (Bass Pedal from @Danbieranowski, Bass Informant from @irvmuller, and master volume from @Markus ). Amentum - @Markus says it's killer on bass. Depot and XB-MB - Total guess, but given that the Depot Fuzz and XB-MB...

To prevent shrinkage down the line, I make sure to wash them on cold in the laundry before installing them. Have you tried that? Seriously though, that really blows. I'm interested to see if the hive mind comes up with a reason you're burning through these things.
