    Sending Drill Templates to Tayda

I got nervous about the number tweaking @SYLV9ST9R is talking about. I didn't want to goof up the order and have a weird customized hole-riddled enclosure shipped to me. So, I finally snagged a step bit and a center punch to do it myself. Wish I did that sooner. The Dewalt step bit (#DWA1783IR)...

    Minnow "Schindleria Praematurus"

This one's on my list! Do you have any demos of your own or demos from others that sound like what you got? Nice work, as usual!

SOLVED Deflector - no effect, just subtle distortion [NOW DEFLECTING!]

SOLVED! @Mcknib - Grounding issue, re-touched the socket. you were spot on, i went over pin 4 (well, 1-4, to be sure) on the board and it all worked. Liked your idea about testing the sockets without the ICs, that'll be a good trick for next time. @Nostradoomus - great eye. I think that's ok...

SOLVED Deflector - no effect, just subtle distortion [NOW DEFLECTING!]

Learning lots over here in troubleshooting mode. I built two Deflectors (one for me, one for pal), and one works! I got a problem with my second deflector build... I'm sniffing around with an audio probe, photos and multi-meter. Any thoughts would be super appreciated, folks! Resistors All the...

gotcha, thanks for the quick explanation! that makes a lot more sense.

    Informant

I'm a little confused on Informant vs Muroidea. I thought both were Rat-based? Looking at the actual build docs, the Informant is more complex.

3PDT Switch for Order Switching PCB

Not sure what your switches look like, but I had a problem with a toggle switch that wasn't fitting my PedalPCB order switch, too. I gently bent the lugs to fit the pcb, and it works. Check out what I posted about it in this thread. Maybe that'll help you out? Good luck!

1/8 w reistors in photon vibe

I recommend getting 1/8 watt, and use those for all the builds. Lots of folks have used 1/4 watt resistors at a tilt with success here. I've never tried, I went straight for the 1/8 watt resistors and stuck with them, even for 1/4 watt builds.

    DIY Pedals - Parts Organization

I use something like this - but it's getting to be too small! I think having an additional one dedicated only to resistors and caps would be the best. The spare box can be used for all the other parts (ICs, pots, jacks, plugs, wire, etc). I've heard of other folks using a three-ring binder...

    baking spray painted enclosures

Great pointers, all - and a big YES to ventilation. I usually solder on my stove with the hood vent on, or when the weather's nice I'm outside, in the garage or a fan is blowing outtake through a window. The thrift store toaster is cooking outside in the garage. ...I want my rocking and...

    baking spray painted enclosures

Snagged a toaster oven for three bucks at a thrift store, so I'm trying out some toaster oven baking for a build. My first experiment was 200F for 60min, and the brass/gold paint held up really well and didn't fade next to my control. The goal is to make the final paint job more durable. After...

    Leprachaun Expression Jack Type?

Wow - we were asking the same questions this weekend. Check out the answer over in this thread. Looks like typically you want insulated jacks for expression pedals, but uninsulated TRS switching jacks will work fine for the Leprechaun in specific.
