How do I add a bass pot to a...

Alternatively for a blues breaker with a bass control, check out the Parthenon. It adds a baxandall style bass and treble control after the clipping. If you're wanting to do a simple mod though, the Timmy style bass control is much easier to implement!

    Carmine Overdrive OC139 replacement

I made a few boards of these as a way to learn eagle and used this schematic. Hope this helps!

    Binaura Stereo FV-1

I'll go ahead and say I prefer TRS jacks for stereo pedals. A lot of the stereo pedals I use are already that way so using TRS cables is a lot handier than 2 TS cables to join them. I'm definitely fine with 1590BB though and leaving it up to us which type of jack we want to use.

    Rat - Increase Volume?

Thanks for all of the responses! I have definitely been doing lots of experimenting on this and have been learning a lot in the process. I actually did use a PF5102 instead and have been getting some nice volume bumps to go along with it. I'm still tweaking how much gain I actually want out of...

    Rat - Increase Volume?

But that's not as much fun! ? haha Mostly I'm just curious if I'm on to something and if this is a correct way to turn a buffer into a boost.

    Rat - Increase Volume?

So I've been playing around with the Rat circuit a bunch lately and have found I really like the sound with germanium clippers. The only thing is, it drops the volume quite a bit with how hard it's clipping. Would it be possible to tweak things around a bit with the JFET buffer to instead act...

That's a good idea! I've been doing it in batches and probably won't be making enclosures for another month or so but I'd be happy to share.

Thanks Chuck! The finish is a technique I've been working on for a while now. First I use Birchwood Casey aluminum black as a base layer. Then I splotch on some paints that I only let partially dry before running it under water to get those unique textures. Posca paint pens for the lettering...

    Muroidea

Really happy with how this one turned out! It's a classic rat with a sweet LM208, tantalum caps, and a 3way clipping switch (1n4148s, red LEDs, bat41 & bat41-1n4148 for asymmetrical). The asymmetrical sounds especially fantastic and is something I'd recommend to try if you haven't already. In...

Basic Workflow Tips for Building a PedalPCB

I use the Weller WLC100 and it's a pretty great iron for the price! I'd recommend the Weller ST7 tip as the smaller size is really helpful for PedalPCB boards. I think that's the same as what JBK was recommending. And I second getting the brass tip cleaner instead of the sponge.

This is a seriously beautiful build inside and out! Very excited to build mine now!

    Covert - Low Volume

All of the caps on this one are rated at 35v or higher so I'm good on that front. Will definitely try the higher voltage and see what that's like. Yeah, maybe I should experiment a bit with R14. I'll see how everything else goes first but I might also just live with it. Thanks again for...

    Circulator - Unity Volume

I was thinking of putting in a trim pot on R6 to control the overall volume. I always try and add those in for effects without a volume control. I think that's where you'd do it on this one. Other uses correct me if I'm wrong.

    Covert - Low Volume

Thanks so very much for the voltages and assurance on those. Everything seems to sound exactly as it should, all eq pots working correctly, getting a great range of gains in both toggle positions, and the presence pot sounds best just shy of max. The only thing seems to be the low overall...

    Covert - Low Volume

    Yeah I usually don't clean the tops but that 4pdt sure left a mess! Anyways, source voltages are as follows from a 9.1v onespot: Q1 - 0.82v Q2 - 5.39v Q3 - 0.80v Q4 - 5.20v Q5 - 5.37v And those green caps are non-polarized so they're good! Wanted to try them out for a change.

    Covert - Low Volume

Yeah I'm wondering if it's something like that. Will definitely probe things and see if I can pinpoint it

    Covert - Low Volume

Evidently my pics are too big to upload directly so imgur it is! Yeah, this sounds really pretty great, just don't like having unity at max volume with the toggle down. Everything else sounds like I believe it should.

    Covert - Low Volume

Just wrapped this thing up using the SMD 4393's and for whatever reason, unity volume is with the knob at max. I believe it sounds like it should, gainy and Marshally, but is just more quiet than I'd like. I'm guessing it might be something around R17, Q5, or the volume pot. Anyone else have any...
