    TS9 & 808 Danae Mods

Looks like low-B has a frequency of 61.7Hz, so need to ensure frequency down to at least that (or lower). What is the current design tuned to and how to calculate that??

    TS9 & 808 Danae Mods

Ok, so played it thru Bass over the weekend and with some other area Bass Players to demo. The Danae pedal is killer! Sounded EXCELLENT on Bass for those interested in the feedback from me and people. One question or ask is that the frequency response be extended down to the low-B for the...

    Q: Engineers Thumb Issue

I know sounds like a stupid question, but has anyone confirmed the Engineers Thumb build?? I built one up. Seems to work and all controls, but active LED is either ON....or ON brighter/darker!! Just so I know when on or off, just disconnected the 2 wires from the board, and wired hot directly to...

    Marshall 2203KK - Boost / Noise Gate

I read in another forum that the Marshall 2203KK head is just a KT88 JCM800, but in Beast mode, has the input go into a Boost and then Noise Gate (Zuul), then into the JCM800! Attached is the schemo and initial PCB someone made up, but seemed large in size. As the folks here at PedalPCB have...

    TS9 & 808 Danae Mods

Supposed to be coming in tomorrow! Look forward to building it up either way.

    TS9 & 808 Danae Mods

So, you built this one for Bass Guitar and sounded good as-is?? Yeah, I'm apprehensive on building anything like OD for Bass without first confirming. A lot of pedals are designed for Guitar, which has a different audio scale, so playing the lower octave's could flub out and sound muddy, for...

    TS9 & 808 Danae Mods

I like the concept and that the Danae Overdrive (Ibanez TSV808 Vemuram Overdrive) has the clipping on switches to turn on or off and Saturation knob. My question is...can this be used for BASS? If not, what would need to be changed to be more applicable to Bass Guitar than Electric Guitar...

    Mean Green Metal Machine led's?

I wish some gut shot of the actual pedal(s) show up. So, is the 4558 single or a stacked chip setup?? I guess could just try it and see the difference, but would like to know stock how Mike did it. Funny, I was thinking "Mean Green Machine" was for the TS-9. The PedalPCB page actually shows...

    Mean Green Metal Machine led's?

Thanks for checking. Attached is the PCB and front and back traces (unverified).

    Mean Green Metal Machine led's?

Yeah, we need some gut shots and verified schematic(s).

    Mean Green Metal Machine led's?

Yes, I've tried TS circuits with symmetric and asymmetric clipping as well as silicon and germanium and a combination2 and with LEDs...different combinations. It'd be interested to know the difference between the Forton TS9 and Fortin 808. The TS9 does have the 808 MODs for increased volume...

    Mean Green Metal Machine led's?

Yeah, their stuff isn't Chinese junk. No wonder China wants Taiwan, so their shit can actually work!! Yeah, good stuff. Use them.

    Mean Green Metal Machine led's?

Just one more thing on the LEDs from Tayda I used on this....as I said, datasheet suggests Vf of 2.0-2.2V and this pedal sounded great....but I also used the very same 3mm LEDs in the Fridman clone pedals (BE-OD BE-OD DLX) and A-B'ed them with actual Friedman pedals and the results...

    Mean Green Metal Machine led's?

It's not so much about the gain as the tone. Hopefully I got the design/schematic correct (we'll see), but the pedal just sounds huge and tight. You get a little fir on the last last bit (9-10) on the drive knob, but again....tight and wide. I also A-B'ed it with one of my modded TS's where I...

    Mean Green Metal Machine led's?

We'll wait for Buggs to release the official schematic, but I'm going thru the design, and I'm really amazed how close it is to just an ordinary TS9 with the 808-mod and 100R on R14 and 10k on R15 and all pots the same, etc. What I was expecting was some changes to the clipping circuit...check...

    Mean Green Metal Machine led's?

Yeah, I just used these from Tayda, Red Diffused, 3mm, Forward voltage@IF=20mA: 2.0-2.2V, Luminous intensity(MCD): 4,000 - 6,000 - https://www.taydaelectronics.com/leds/round-leds/3mm-leds/led-3mm-red.html I'd like to see the schematic and compare it to the original TS-9 and see what exactly...

Mean Green Metal Machine Mockup Pedal - Arriving Soon!

Twisted it up after work. WOW! Best OD in my opinion! Tight, lots of versatility in controls, all usable, and quiet. A must have imo.

    Mean Green Metal Machine led's?

Just use the 3mm red from Tayda Electronics. I got the board this week and twisted it up after work. WOW! Best Overdrive I have played in my opinion! Enjoy!

Mean Green Metal Machine Mockup Pedal - Arriving Soon!

Got a board this week, so will be twisting it up and checking out this weekend. No information of schematic, so not sure how different from the original TS9/808, but we'll see and find out shortly I assume!
