Out of curiosity, why so you have the two stand up resistors?

So strange. First time in building probably 40-50 pedals where I have gotten a bad oscillation on this build. I switched the IC with no change. Curious if anyone else has experienced this issue and has a clue on the cause. Thanks! -Ian

It's definitely not the Shika fuzz. Unity is roughly at 9 o'clock in that. The Rams Head Number three is pretty close as is the IC big muff.

I've been going between an 18 watt TMB, Plexi, and a Matamp. I'd just like to have unity gain at twelve o clock like on a big muff.

Does the silicon ff have more volume as well or will I run into a similar issue?

Yup completely. I've got some Russian transistors in there. That's the only "non-stock" aspect of it.

This is the GE ff. I'd like to have a more usable volume sweep. I'm always diming this pedal and it leaves me wanted more. Is it possible to have more volume and more gain or a better sweep on the fuzz control? I know historically it's a pedal designed to be max on both though.

So in thinking about this pedal and reading about fuzz face mods in general I was wondering if anyone has made any to it. The big thing I'm thinking of is how to increase the output volume, which on a ff requires swapping the location of two resistors...

Better question is how should we all measure our less than ideal J201s...

I'm glad I never ordered from that guy. I was close on some GE transistors but I ended up just buying a DCA 55 and a bunch of transistors from Ukraine and Russia instead.

My favorite muff right now is a triangle variant, the Hizumitas. Been using it on my board since it was first released by PPCB. I went through my short phase of liking tone benders but I ultimately came back to muffs. Just the best fuzz for the type of music I play these days...

I used an on/on for this build. Nice sounding muff but I prefer the Rams Head and the Russians. I built a Rams Head Number 3 from the Kitrae site and the Civil War in the build docs. Both are awesome.

This question is mostly necessitated based on my current parts inventory but also from looking over the Aion version. Aion uses a 1.5uF film capacitor in place of the 1.5uF electro and Bat46 diodes instead of 1n34a. Has anyone heard a difference with those part substitutions?

Just got this PCB to build and I noticed the parts list and PCB design in the build document is different from the PCB I received. Also the 3mm Red LED is missing on the PCB. I am guessing this is just a newer version but wanted some other thoughts, thanks! -Ian
