    Muffin Fuzz Pot question

Fair enough. Any chance for someone else to do the work, now thats why I come here!

    Muffin Fuzz Pot question

Yea I am pretty certain the top right (from the inside of the enclosure) is Volume. The trace on the back of the pcb goes directly from the wiper to the out hole. Just wanted a second set of eyes so that I woukdnt have to desolder a pot unnecessarily.

    Muffin Fuzz Pot question

Another silly question...which pot spots are tone, volume, and sustain? I want to use the audio pot for volume but am unsure which is which.

    Russian Germanium. What to build?

I'd recommend the Rangefinder, the Sundance, Tone Benders (possibly with the trimpot once it's back in stock). I recently got an order of about 150 PNPs and am quite happy with the results. One cool thing is that I built the Aion version of the MK2 Tone Bender and it is way more forgiving in...

Ungula: As luck would have it...

Low leakage I'm assuming? Just got a batch of 70 Soviet trannys I'm making my way through testing (mp38a, gt404b, and gt404d).

Ungula: As luck would have it...

Our of curiosity, do you know the Hfe range that works for this? I see the 2N1308 datasheet lists the minimum at 80, but wonder how much difference it would make depending on how much higher gain transistors go in. What did your transistors test at?

    A Moral Dilemma

That's some bad timing...thanks Vlad. Unintentionally I ordered two big batches of Ge trannys from Russia and Ukraine around February 7 or so. Looks like I'm getting thr Russian order delivered tomorrow and I've seen no updates on the larger PNP order from Ukraine since February 10. Hopefully...

    germanium transistor help

Once I get my batch of transistors from Ukraine (terrible timing and circumstances), I'd be happy to send some necessary parts your way as well. I've got about 70 NPN coming from Russia that I should have next week and another 150 or so PNP from Ukraine, which hopefully I'll have sometime in...

    germanium transistor help

It does report leakage on Ge, assuming it's accurate. See here: Info on DCA55 Leakage I already tested the twenty or so Ge I bought last year from Small Bear. Weirdly enough my Hfe calculations using the Keen method on a Vero board were within the margin of error but my leakage calculations...

    germanium transistor help

At this point your best bet, at least in the US, is pedalhacker or stomp box parts. I saw SBP posted some Soviet ge transistors this week. The other option is to order on ebay from reputable sellers and test those when they arrive. I'm waiting for about 200 transistors from Russia and Ukraine...

    Flux Pen It definitely does.

How do you clean your PCBs? Help a noob out!

Has anyone tried the pen version? Ordered that today after reading this thread.

    D3lay - Custom Eeprom

That's what I'm thinking too. Ideally I'd love to be able to find something that can get close to the Ice setting on the Strymon Timeline so I was thinking maybe or the pitch delay.

    Great, thanks.

    D3lay - Custom Eeprom

So I finished this pedal and played around at band practice with it. I love the tape delay and I can see using the modulated delay but the space option is useless for me. If I wanted to swap this chip out for a custom eeprom would that work even with the 8 algorithms loaded?

Dark Esbat - Too clean, zero gain.

There was just too much gain in a way that was unnecessarily saturated. I couldn't get it to work for me at this point.

Dark Esbat - Too clean, zero gain.

I'm fine with it as is tbh. I have to try it at full volume. I have a feeling once I finish the germanium treble boosters I have queued up this pedal will get lost. Weirdly enough I didn't care for the Naga Viper through my 1987, which has a lot less gain overall than my 18 watt. The use of...

Dark Esbat - Too clean, zero gain.

Having built this last week, I didn't think the lack of gain was too noticeable through a 5F1. I thought it had less gain than anticipated. I ended up getting the listed ICs from Futurewares rather than using TL072s. For whatever reason I assumed it would be like the Sabbra Caddabra or even the...

Dark Esbat - Too clean, zero gain.

Looks like you are missing a ground wire on the output jack.

    Shika Fuzz (EQD Hizumitas)

It does look better through inkscape but you may be right.
