Where and why do people buy Chibsons?

Finally we get to the meat and potatoes. Greta Van Fleet has been counterfeiting music for a few years now and people still support them. I find this detestable. Also cover bands.... sorry.. i couldn't resist.

    Do you clear coat afterwards?

    Pipe Stretcher/ Tube Bender

Maybe it is the lighting... but this looks so good with the oxblood and the red LED bezel against the light gold. Credit where credit is due, this is awesome.

    Best projects for doom metal?

You ended up in the right place by my book. Most other metal genres aren't nearly as chill and (to my recollection) there's a general leaning towards elitism among metalheads. Nice people in general but they took music a bit too seriously from what I remember going to all the shows and talking...

    Best projects for doom metal?

oh most definitely. I was maybe a little bit too tongue in cheek with my comment ha! Advertising doesn't work on me............. okay, maybe this time.

    Best projects for doom metal?

Matt Pike used to use the Atomic Cock ( https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/pcb548/ ) but he may know nothing about doom. That also goes back to things being subjective. I like to add a small bit of modulated delay a la the Magnetron Delay to thicken up the sound when dooming. It is nice also...

    Best projects for doom metal?

@Fuzz Wizard Have you built the Pharaoh Fuzz? PPCB Glyph. There are others who make versions as well including the Supreme version. Lots of gigging musicians rocking that.

    Best projects for doom metal?

I forgot that I wanted to make up a Sonic Titan. Good shout.

    Best projects for doom metal?

The Mofeta preamp is as doom as the night is black. The Bellum MkI is a fun muff flavor that actually responds pretty well to your volume and picking dynamics. EffectsLayouts Ache is a parentheses/lifepedal without the boost and a separate stomp for the rat circuit and the octave circuit...

    Obsidian-Boss Metalizers Distortion

Wow! That's a lot of transistors. You take on builds I wouldn't touch with an iron for years. Always impressed and inspired to take on bigger and better projects by your posts. I hope you know that people here value your work and seeing a GOTA build does brighten the day for many of us. You're...

    Dragons Breath aka Rangemistress

This does generally make for a very quiet pedal when engaged. I love the Rangemistress name. Pity its not your cup of tea, but at least its a low parts and cheap build. Easy to give as a gift to someone and it will make their day.

SOLVED Who else gets gremlins when socketing transistors?

Just built a Titania and I am very happy I socketed. Got to roll a bunch of transistors and even just rotating three 2n2222s made a huge difference in the sounds. But I am going to pull the sockets and solder them direct. I don't like sockets.

This has been the only thing that has helped. What's the trick for anode cathode?

Kliche Ala Chuck D Bones Bass Mod

Reminds me of this just a bit. How do the d18s sound in this? I had mostly seen them used in fuzz pedals.

    Newbie Questions Regarding Ordering Parts

If you have one or two parts you are stuck on that you can't get from Tayda or whoever be sure to do some searches on this forum (and the Googles if you dare) and you can pretty quickly determine if there are substitutes that can be used. Any build I do I like to research on the forum and see...

Nontransparent Booster pedal for Strat and Tele

Maybe look into a compressor? What you describe sounds a bit like using a compressor as a boost and for some additional shaping (takes out the plink and keeps the low end consistent). I have a boneyard delegate that I quite enjoy for this. But there are lots of boosts as well that tone shape. I...

FYI-Tayda matte vs gloss clear coat

Babaganoush can be a gray color. I understood what you meant at least lol.

What's your favorite Bluesbreaker-based PedalPCB circuit?

Pro-10, but I use mine as a clean boost and tone sweetener. I don't know if I've ever used it with the gain over ~9 o'clock.

First pedal build. Noob questions about about pots and LED

Octamayer was one of my first and is awesome. Do some research on this forum and you may benefit regarding parts and selection. Also you can test the current limiting resistor with the led and a 9v battery till you find the right resistance so they don't blind you. I use a lot of the ultra...
