    SOLVED Tellurian Trouble (no overdrive)

I figured it out. Earlier during the build I had accidentally used a 22nf instead of 220nf, I caught it right away and desoldered the 22nf. Turns out one of the C3 pads (VREF side) had gotten ripped out while desoldering and I didn't even know. So C3 was not receiving any voltage. I ran a...

    SOLVED Tellurian Trouble (no overdrive)

Yes. I also checked that the red dot on the diode actually indicates the cathode (with some old diodes it's the opposite) -- it does in this case and they are correctly oriented on the board. I did check that, thanks. I'll work through the schematic and see if anything's funky. Thanks @Robert

    SOLVED Tellurian Trouble (no overdrive)

I'm a little embarrassed to ask for help because this is such a simple build and I haven't had such basic trouble in a long while. Essentially, the pedal does not overdrive. LED turns on and the volume and tone knobs work, but the drive knob does almost nothing. From min to max, the drive knob...

PARSEC: Mach 1 + Cleaver Build (Limelight approximator)

Thanks all! The Pro10 blue and Amentum would be killer. And probably closer in spirit to the Limelight, since it's based on a Bluesbreaker. The Mach1/Lightspeed is not a Bluesbreaker but as a "transparent overdrive" I consider it close enough. I'm tempted to build another version using the...

Push button DPDT (for Double Jeopardy, or anywhere you'd use a toggle)

I believe I found an equivalent part at Mouser. The dimensions and pin layout match, although I welcome anyone who wants to double check this. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Apem/MHPS2285?qs=%2Fs1LKTamv0wBYywlfe0WMg%3D%3D

Push button DPDT (for Double Jeopardy, or anywhere you'd use a toggle)

No reason you couldn’t wire a footswitch off-board, that I can see. From the demos there doesn’t appear to be a significant volume difference but would love to hear from an actual owner.

in the meantime Robert, do you mind sharing the part number of that switch?

Push button DPDT (for Double Jeopardy, or anywhere you'd use a toggle)

I think at least a few of us would be into that!

Push button DPDT (for Double Jeopardy, or anywhere you'd use a toggle)

I'm building the Double Jeopardy. I don't mind toggles, but I like the button on the original Solo Boost. Does anyone know of a push-button switch, that is suitable to sub for a toggle in Pedalpcb builds? It would have to have a similar body height to a Taiway, and only require a simple hole to...

PARSEC: Mach 1 + Cleaver Build (Limelight approximator)

I built the Mach 1 a while ago and really liked it as a transparent drive. Recently I acquired an EAE Limelight V2, which is great, but I felt like I could get pretty close to it by pairing the Mach 1 with a clean boost. I settled on the Cleaver boost, mostly because I tend to like the sound of...

Hijacking one pedal's charge pump to power another pedal

Thanks much for the replies. I'm seeing 16mA total current draw for both pedals... I wouldn't have thought that was too close to 20mA, but if it's as easy as dropping in the LT1054, the additional headroom won't hurt. This is meant to be an approximation of the EAE Limelight ("transparent"...

Hijacking one pedal's charge pump to power another pedal

I want to pair the Mach 1 with the Cleaver in one enclosure. They should fit fine side by side in a 1590BB. I already have a Mach 1 and I prefer to run it at 18V. However the Cleaver uses a charge pump to convert 9V to 18V internally. So you see the dilemma. If both pedals share one power input...

Clean boost to pair with Lightspeed in one enclosure

I built the Mach 1 and like it a lot. Recently I acquired an EAE Limelight V2 and while it's great, I realized if I could pair the Mach 1 with an independent boost circuit, it would be quite similar to the Limelight, minus a few features. The Limelight's drive side has a bit more gain but as...

DIY desktop/mini/lunchbox amps? similar to Big Trees

Hmm, thanks, I should have mentioned budget. A lot of those kits are $700 or more, except the Zeppelin, but I'm hoping for more than one-knob functionality. I thought I would find more along the lines of the Big Trees, which has a lot of features but looks like a biggish pedal build that I would...

DIY desktop/mini/lunchbox amps? similar to Big Trees

My bedroom practice amp is a Vox MV50 AC into a 1x12. The Vox is surprisingly good for the money but I always intended it as a stopgap. I'm wondering about DIY mini or lunchbox amps to fill a similar role, whether tube or solid state. A DIY version of Big Trees from Audio Kitchen is the ideal...

what BBD pedal should I make?

This is interesting! I also have several VTL5C3 laying around so this might be the one. Would be very interesting in a delay FX loop.

had to google it. sports? now you're really talking gibberish lol

what BBD pedal should I make?

Well you may have gotten a lemon, who knows. I don't take things personally but will defend a pedal I love (why else do these forums exist? lol) and I just philosophically disagree with saying gear "sucks" (unless it's literally falling-apart Chinese garbage or something)

what BBD pedal should I make?

Most people seem to use it as a vibrato with the mix all the way up, to add a subtle, dark tape warble, and it does that really well. I mean, if that's not what you're looking for, so be it but I don't know where "sucks" comes into play with pedals. Any given pedal will suit some people's needs...
