Boss Enclosure to PedalPCB designed PCB So Far!

There was like a 10 year period (2005-2015ish) where you could pick up dead Blues Jrs for next to nothing. In all cases it was main PCB related. So you could essentially have a cabinet, chassis, speaker and serviceable iron for under $200. Slap in a modded JCM800 circuit on turret board...

    Salesman PCB- Available Now!

Yes, but didn’t notice him saying it was a standard BB and not a BB2, which I believe is the same but just a touch taller (3mm I believe). Old age eyes can’t tell the 2 apart at sight.

Acrylic Overdrive or Covert Overdrive would fit that bill perfectly! https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/pcb442/ https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/covert/

Boss Enclosure to PedalPCB designed PCB So Far!

I would build it because u could! Little known fact- Warren Haynes used one for a period of time for his heavier slide parts as a boost.

    Salesman PCB- Available Now!

I have the board here so made a parts list from that and have everything I think I need except the switch (StompBoxParts I think has one), and the charge pump. Just need to know what to drill.. of course will likely pick up a 1590bb2 instead of the bb I have here just because I like the...

    Salesman PCB- Available Now!

I’m assuming a BB2 would also work since it’s the same size but deeper. Have a drill template available by chance? Think I got the parts lost from the pCB so I may be good to go once I know where to drill

Boss Enclosure to PedalPCB designed PCB So Far!

Very cool! Although I did have my hopes up that the enclosure was a tease of an upcoming PPCB metal zone project!

Quick question about soldering residue cleaner

Since my pedals are for my enjoyment and not sale, I never clean the flux. Im sure it will get me some good natured flack whenever I post something here by y’all, but that don’t bother me

Where Do I Get Components For IO Board?

They just went up in price I believe- they were under $20 for the longest time… but they still cheaper than Mouser etc https://a.co/d/9UF26V1

Where Do I Get Components For IO Board?

It’s crazy- I can get switchcraft 1/4” jacks for almost $0.50/ea cheaper on Amazon now than I could through Magic Parts or New Sensor 20 years ago at dealer prices. And yes, they are verified to be true Switchcraft, not knockoff

Where Do I Get Components For IO Board?

that’s where I buy my dc jacks, led bezels, if sockets and Switchcraft 1/4” jacks. Amazon beats all others prices it seems with these.

Fun with CMOS - part 1 - The CMOS Raincoat

One thing I will say is that these ICs are VERY static sensitive. In fact a 4049 is the only IC in nearly 40 years of this that I’ve fried due to static discharge.

SOLVED! Lowering B+ on a 5F11 Vibrolux clone (fixed bias woes)

Had to ask about the rectifiers as some older Russian 5Y3 were essentially rebadged 5AR4 seeing your filament voltages up, but not super high says you could be safe losing a bit on the primary. Doesn’t look like you have any more higher taps that would essentially bring it down. Although you...

Fun with CMOS - part 1 - The CMOS Raincoat

Very interesting! Kind of a take on the Red Llama/Anderton Tube Sound Fuzz/EH hot tubes… except with more cascading stages.

SOLVED! Lowering B+ on a 5F11 Vibrolux clone (fixed bias woes)

What voltages are you getting on all taps(filaments included)? What kind of rectifier tube are you using? Country of origin? Are there multiple primary voltage taps?

SOLVED Madbean Slow Loris - no sound

You can try an audio probe to trace the signal. I use a looper pedal as my tone generator, and my audio probe is simply a guitar cable plugged into a mini amp, and the “probe” end, I clip the ground to pedal ground, and use a large capacitor (.68u, but anything would likely work) with one end...

Tweed Deluxe 5E3 Output Transformer Question

I’m a big proponent of saying that the output transformer in amps that are pushed hard is one of the biggest factors in tone. That said, I’ve had good luck with Heyboer transformers in the past… and looking at their site they cite Mojo as the place to buy them… yet on mojo’s site, they only...

    Cepheid Chorus

And at that I STRONGLY recommend a set of center drills vs just using a smaller twist drill bit. Twist drills can flex and runout, center drills are much larger diameter up until the point which is of size, and leaves a slightly countersunk hole.

    Cepheid Chorus

I found that following the center punch mark with a center drill hole, then sizing with a Christmas tree bit helps a lot. I’m also clamping into a vice and using a drill press so I feel any errors are likely layout errors in my case
