    NPN vs PNP

To be honest, I guess nothing is. I just need to look into how a charge pump works. Haha. I was just curious if what I was reading about flipping the transistors and EL cap’s was all you need to do. But, a charge pump might be the way I need to go, as I’m researching more. I’m still a...

    NPN vs PNP

A few diffrent pedals. Long story short, I’m trying to avoid using 9VDC battery power and use a negative to ground DC power supply. So, I’d like to either change the PNP to NPN transistors to use a negative to ground power supply, or figure out how to use a PNP transistor with a negative...

    NPN vs PNP

So, I've been reading up a lot on this, and am some what confident I have this all ready to go. But, I figured I would check here to see If was correct in my thinking. What I'm trying to do is us a PNP transistor, BUT have it work on a negative to ground circuit. What I'm reading is simply...

The Ocelot: Modified Univox Super Fuzz

Awesome looking pedal!! From the artwork inside, to the artwork outside! I REALLY like the 2N5551, and looks like you popped in 6 of those! Beautiful build, thanks for sharing! I bet it sounds great!

    Dallas Rangemaster NPN

Sounds like you are correct. I have 8.43vdc across the collector and ground. 9.14vdc across the base and ground and 8.42vdc across the emitter and ground. So, now I need to figure out how to correct that.

    Dallas Rangemaster NPN

The other pedal I was working on was that had a similar issue was a zonk machine style fuzz. I was using PNP transistors and could never get it to work. Gave up, moved on and put it in the "to do later" pile. hahahaha. If I can figure out how to bias the transistors, I can probably get that...

Library options? And a couple other noob thoughts

Awesome, I have to revisit my PCB. I think I could squeeze more on. Thanks!

Taking a break from this to go do that now!!!!! He's loving the Kewpie fuzz pedal I built for him from pedalPCB. I love that damn pedal too!! haha

    Dallas Rangemaster NPN

I will tomorrow. Electrosmash suggest I have +2 volts to ground across the collector, +8 volts to ground across the base and +8.2 volts to ground across the emitter. I hope this sounds right. I've never biased my transistors before, so I'd have to research that a bit. I did run across a...

    Dallas Rangemaster NPN

Ohhh shot!! You're right, wrong sub-forum, thanks! It's been a frustrating day! I tried to move it to that sub forum, but I think is too late. I'll post a picture of the 3PDT switch tomorrow, my sons been chomping at the bit to jam with me, but I attached a pic of my schematic. The 3PDT...

    Dallas Rangemaster NPN

Hope everyone is good!! I'm trying to build a NPN version of the Dallas Rangemaster. I actually got some PCB's made based off of electrosmash's schematics (https://www.electrosmash.com/images/tech/rangemaster/dallas-rangemaster-positive-negative-ground-circuits.png). I followed it to a tee...

Library options? And a couple other noob thoughts

Did those all fit within the 100mm x 100mm? I was only able to fit 4. Still plenty for me, but curious if I could somehow squeeze in a bit more.

Library options? And a couple other noob thoughts

Perfect. That’s about what mine looked like as well, except I could only fit 4 to keep the 100mm x 100mm pricing. But, works for me! Thanks for all the help yet again!

Library options? And a couple other noob thoughts

Cool. Let me know how it goes. I was able to fit 4 of the breakout boards I designed on something that was real close to 100mm x 100mm. Works for me! And if I failed, guess I’ll put a bunch on order through pedalpcb and make them work for my boards. Hahaha.

Library options? And a couple other noob thoughts

Sorry to ask so many questions, but with V-scoring, will JLCPCB know where to score the board? The reason I ask is because I did send out a PCB to them with the V-scoring. But when I upload the gerber, and check out the gerber viewer, it doesn't look like its scored. I see where the scoring...

Awesome!!! So easy and the answer was right in front of me!! I don't think I can count how many times you've saved me a day of headaches! Thanks again!

Library options? And a couple other noob thoughts

Interesting. I did some research on V-scoring, but cant seem to utilize it. Is this done when ordering pcb's from whatever manufacture you choose, or done in whatever program you use to create the PCB. I use JLCPCB as well and Diptrace. I too am making custom breakout boards for some PCB's...

    tone bender mkii build report

Nice. Great advice. I ordered some cheap ones at Tayda, as they only had one type that I saw. I will look on small bear, they probably have better for sure. On that note, I've noticed at Tayda that you get what you pay for on certain parts. It seems like the IC'c and transistors are hit and...

Very nice!! I had a huge Tayda order, so I added a bunch of these. Can't wait to try these out! Thanks!
