vintage Rosac Nu-Wa Nu-Fuzz - converting to 9v dc adaptor

yes, polarized. negative end of the caps go to the battery disconnect switch/negative battery terminal

vintage Rosac Nu-Wa Nu-Fuzz - converting to 9v dc adaptor

alright braintrust, here's a fun one. I was sent a vintage Rosac to check out/repair/mod so that it is no longer powered by 2 separate 9v batteries. It works fine on a battery, he said, but a voodoo lab power supply to battery snap adapter made terrible noise. those were my findings exactly...

Looking for boost only mid eq circuit

that is exactly the kind of quick and dirty solution i was looking for. i guess it's a modern take on the anderton schematic i saw but it didn't look complete. this with a fixed volume and a DPDT bypass switch will be perfect

Looking for boost only mid eq circuit

yes, the original pedal is fairly scooped already

Looking for boost only mid eq circuit

Hello all, I’m looking to add a mod boost eq to the front of an existing circuit. I know the Clapton mid boost exists, but it is huge. Hoping for something op amp based. Just need to be able to switch in some mids to goose the front end. The zorkmid has this sort of boost, but the build doc...

    boogie monster - less gain?

swapped out Q1 and Q2 with 5457's an biased everything to 10v (at 18v input) and got some pretty solid results. the low gain section of the pot is still tiny, but it at least exists now. might try the rest as an experiment later

    boogie monster - less gain?

howdy just built up the boogie monster running at 18v, biased all nice, and it sounds great for the heavy rock and metal stuff. all the rectum frier tones i could ever want. but even at A1M, seemingly the most subtle of all pot tapers, the gain knob is like a switch. almost no sound to BAM as...

FV-1 DEV BOARD ...Now what? (noob woes)

built the board, installed the drivers, pulled down some programs from github. loaded one into ASprogrammer. program. completed. take it over to my test rig, plug it in, no effect. wet/dry just acts as a volume control. i'm so out of my depth here. help

1970's Bad Stone Phase Shifter - a massacre

this should be one for the ages. I was asked to take a look at this bad stone for repair. I made no promises, but said I'd take a look. shewwwww boy does this thing smell bad. and the work in here might be worse. it would seem there was an attempt to remove the manual phase option. Can't say I...

    Lead Solder Overdrive

got side tracked with other projects. just got it boxed up, and now that it's grounded in the case, the oscillation is basically gone. if i crank the gain AND the mids, it will make a funny honk noise when i turn off my gate. but under normal use cases, the problem i was having before is...

    Lead Solder Overdrive

the gain knob, and generally when it's over I'd say 80%. the pitch of the oscillation changes as the knob is turned. oddly when I put my finger on the bass pot it pretty much goes away. the residual noise is likely a mix of the absurd amount of gain and the crappy wiring in my apartment. I use...

    Lead Solder Overdrive

just the standard enclosed plastic mono jacks from tayda. i don't tend to box them up until i confirm they are built correctly, so if the enclosure is going to help ground it all, then i can proceed.

    Lead Solder Overdrive

shielded wire didn't do anything. and my jacks are all the way down by the switch. nowhere near the gain knob. is this thing going to be grounded once i put it in the case?

    Lead Solder Overdrive

other than the constant sine wave ringing over the note, pretty incredible. got some shielded wire in the mail. hoping that solves the issue

    Sea Horse Mods

would that make it less slap-backy at with Dim turned all the way down?

    Lead Solder Overdrive

i haven't boxed mine yet. currently testing and yeah, crazy oscillation with the gain up. 2 gates to take care of it. touching the top of the bass pot seems to quiet it down. touching the mid and treble pots make it worse. i've reflowed them all to make sure i don't have a bad ground or...

SOLVED (vero) tc mojo mojo - op amp issue

got it sorted. i was right. that 1k resistor was eating up all the power. error in the layout. all good now. thanks for looking. saving this for posterity

SOLVED (vero) tc mojo mojo - op amp issue

Did some measuring. Only getting 1.5v at pin 8. Seems to be getting robbed by that 1k resistor right after the protection diode. I found this schematic, which I’m sure isn’t quite official, but might point to the problem. Right here in that same spot there’s a resistor just labeled “1”. Not 1k...
