Anyone Try These Bigguns From LMS?

I really like them. They are like eggshell in terms of glossiness. But yeah, not perfect, but it’s never bothered me. This is one of those bad boys: https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/meatballs-are-the-best-pizza-topping-fight-me-aion-lovetone-meatball.22254/ My Boss builds that are white base...

SOLVED GCI N.E.W. Apostle rotary caps.

Orange OR120 is Gain Stage > Tone Stack > Gain Stage > FAC > Gain Stage. Matamp GT120 is Gain Stage > FAC > Gain Stage > Tone Stack > Gain Stage. The Tone Stack and FAC positions are swapped in the two amps and the pedal mode switch emulates this by disconnecting ground in one of the tone...

50 watt Steel String Singer build diary (in progress)

I am going even slower than I had intended on this build. I’m spending much more time thinking about implementation than actually soldering. That said the power section and heaters are done finally. I had always intended to wire the preamp tubes SLO style but when it came to the power amp...

Rosamp SLO 30 build diary: a noob perspective

I was wondering how your power up went. The joints look strong regardless of the frustration involved! I’ve thinking about this process too. The best solution I have on hand is a Kreg pocket hole jig, maybe I’ll just get a box made haha.

Love it :) Edit: A clear washer would work well to see more of the art work (watching the video)

    Capacitor leads vs. resistor leads

Time to switch to building amps!

    Capacitor leads vs. resistor leads

"right temp and good solder" this we agree 1000% on. Good, consistent solder joints are key to a successful build. How many beginner troubleshooting pictures have we seen where it's obvious that the iron is too cold and/or the solder is garbage? I'm not trying to shame the OP but he wonders if...

    Capacitor leads vs. resistor leads

Each has to decide how much they want to invest in this obsession hobby, but a decent station from a company like Hakko or Weller should be baseline. If you really want to treat yourself, an induction soldering station from Metcal, or Hakko etc feels like an evolutionary step. Rando brands on...

50 watt Steel String Singer build diary (in progress)

Dear diary, I yearn for juicy and sweet low to mid gain with sustain for days. I want the most aggressive cleans possible. When I pick a note on my baritone tele I want it to thump you in chest knocking you over. I actually was going to build a SLO 30 but my package was “lost” by UPS. While I...

Hot D*A*M! And a couple of others.

I appreciate your insights on the 673. That’s another thing I can have a play with. I was afraid the Hybrid Yellow would be like a lower gain Hoof, but yeah it is its own thing with a distinctive voice :)

They have had a few design styles over the years but this is style I was going for with these:

Hot D*A*M! And a couple of others.

Let me preface this post by saying these are inspired by D*A*M pedals, not really clones. David Main obviously spends a ton of time picking and sourcing components and the builds themselves are beautiful. I started collecting these boards a while ago, I’m not sure why I kept putting off...

    Boss DS-1 (TA7136P with 1S2473 diodes), and SD-1 (with 1S1588 diodes).

Thank you! They are around. I.e. a family repair shop closes and they sell off the hidden treasures etc. I think there’s a few boutique pedal makers doing CE-1 preamp pedals with them, stashes must still exist. Speaking of which, that might be a cool little project to do with one.

Parentheses Mini - (beware of LM308 type used)

I believe I quoted the most relevant information regarding the topic at hand. I am being pedantic but the product page doesn't say this anywhere, nor is it implied anywhere on the product page, nor do I find it by a cursory look around the website. I am not trying to light SynthCube on fire...

London Power Scaling - DIY Monarch

Awesome you found a solution that works for you. Is there a schematic somewhere? I don’t understand what it’s doing. I agree with @lowpitch .
