Thank you Hamish. If I have to build a Rat I'll give a chance to your layout. About the other layout, the one owlexifry used (by TagBoard blog) I always keep my wires short, but like someone else I got that issue. Somebody else not. I don't know why.

When I built the Rat using this layout I got oscillation problem at higher gain setting using the bridge pick of my guitar, during the first test of the board before put it into the box. A lot of people got it. And you?

The schematic I posted above seems do it. A Phase Switch. Though the transistor is a JFET, not a BJT. It has some little implementation, too, but it has the switch.

That "+" is for the red LED, it's just on the right. :)

Hello, I'm looking at the fuzz part in the schematic, the downer part: two op-amp stages (non.inverter and inverter), then the Big Muff tone style, and the recovery stage. Just that makes all that the fuzz sound?

I think you can increase R4 - 390R to set the minimum gain lower. Maybe you can try with 1k resistor. The overall gain will decrease, too. Pay attention, you could lose a bit of volume, I guess. So maybe you have to push a bit the second stage.

I tried it on the emulator software and that doesn't work. Maybe there's still something wrong in your schematic. I advice to open a new thread about it. Maybe somebody can see what's this mistake, if it is there. EDIT: I guess there's something about the bias of the op-amp. Check R1 and R5.

Is the input sleeve not connected with a wire? Are you sure that is in contact with the ground? Maybe I wrong, but I'm afraid the paint could isolates it from the ground.
