Back to not working inside or outside of the box, high pitched whirring noise again. I hadnt even done anything to it just wanted a baseline.

Ok, finally had a chance to to some probing on this one, I have a stupidly busy life at the moment, not a lot of time for hobbies. Audio is as it should be on this one until I get to C3. Which is a 220uF electrolytic. For some naive reason I thought they there would be no signal through these...

I have the same problem with 2 pedals, it's killing me trying to figure it out. I'm about to give them a really good audio probe, will let you know if I solve the issue. They both sound like the should but really quiet.

Yes I have the plastic covers on the pots. This has got me baffled, if i leave the jacks floating in the air, but everything in the enclosure it works, as soon as the jacks go in its just high frequency feedback sort of noise. The jacks are in a bad spot, don't follow the drill template on this...

It's the jacks, works with them floating in the air. Just don't understand what is causing it. they aren't touching anything they are not supposed to

replaced the bezel with a plastic one and put it in the box again and there is high pitched white noise again dammit, has to be shorting somewhere.

Now that I have the schematic I'll follow it through, I actually have 2 builds like this where they work and sound as they should but they are really quiet. Haven't even started trouble shooting the other one yet. At least this one is a basic circuit. I noticed there where a handful of places...

Solder bridge, IC 2 pin 6 and 7 or maybe it was the resistors next to it, must have done it when i did the repair and missed it. A bit embarrassing really. Pedal works great now though. Thanks for all your help. Two more left to trouble shoot. Had a bad run lately. Generally they always work...

Yes, I thought that last night, will change to a plastic bezel and see what happens. That got me on the pro 10 build too, LEDs very close to other components and was shorting on the bezel!

Ok, effect works when out side the box. Nothing real obvious as to why it doesnt work in side the box. If anyone is out there reading this thread, is the DC jack to close to that top transistor and charge pump? Or is something just shorting when its in the box?
