    Sticky, Taped Transistors

tet yeah the new stuff isn't anything like the old! I like to get CBD bud and mix it to cut the effect. Or frankly the CBD bud is relaxing as well. And techncally legel to get in any state

    1590B Top Mounted Jacks

yeah the aluminum is ~0.040" thick and I do the iron on transfer method for the lettering. Some of the boards are too wide - in the Ember I shaved the inside with a drill press mounted sanding drum. Or I sometimes have to cut the sides and put on a silver panel. All part of the "look" ;)...

    Korg oscilloscope?

If you're ok with using a PC (Win/Linux) you *cannot* beat an Analog Discovery Diglient USB scope. Function Generator, Scope, Frequency Response, spectrum analyizer, impedance, transistor, scripting, python support, etc, etc. Amazing tool. You can get a used one on ebay for less than $200...

Those of you who use Dale resistors…

Well when you have a defunct RD lab from the 80s-90s and there are THOUSANDS (hundreds and hundreds of boxes of 100s) in cabinets all over gathering dust...... sometimes you dont get all the values, but there are a lot of em. seems a shame that they wind up in a landfill somewhere. I've seen...

pedal output and "line level" output - difference in output impedance

I think I posted some of this before - but I'm still confused about "output" stages in pedals. I assume most pedals are "designed" to work with guitar inputs on amps. So the amp typically has a high impedance 1meg etc right? But if you want to plug a pedal into a "line level" (either +4dBu...

    Understanding LED

Only thing I've ever done is adjust to taste - I always socket my LED resistors to be able to adjust. Seems like a lot of electronics manufactures dont bother and just try to go by specs - and wind up with LEDs that have the brigntness of a laser and could be seen from the moon. Yeah, MXR...
