Did the shipping change for the US? I use to order with option „Europaket“ DDP which was around 3€ for up to BB size pcbs but it was raised to over 5€ for my last small pcbs. So the pcb was 1,85€ and the shipping almost x3…. (VAT excluded)

Which transistors did he check? JFET for example have interchangable drain and source. If you want something really good for transistors get a Peak DCA75. It's expensive but "worth" it. Edit: a nice comparison

Oh ok, pin1 is for also for shutdown btu I thought it's to shut it down above a threshold... "Pulling FB/SD below the shutdown threshold (≈ 0.45" from the datasheet. So then just replace :-)

Yes you can but lift pin1 as it is not a boost pin as in the 1044. Leave it unconnected on the 1054. The pcb should have pin 1 and 8 connected as I can see on the schematic.
