    Cleaver Katana

Update review. I ordered a new pcb to build without tassels. I just rehearsed this through 2 Marshall rigs. 50w plexi into a Hot Plate, & Hot Rodded Master Volume MKII. This boost, below 1/4 turn, really thickens up the drive without any coloration. Really gives it that extra without being...

    Pauper diodes? Really???

BA282 is also very sought after now and priced high. Seems like all our loved through hole stuff is quickly disappearing. We need the 10 cent backyard fix.

    Pauper diodes? Really???

Ok electro geeks (myself included), in laymans terms, can a ma856 majically overpriced mythical diode be replicated, or sort of? Somewhere I read you can put another something in series with a 1n4148 and you will have near exact forward voltage? And,,,,, is the ma856 really all that important...

    Cleaver Katana

After a building break, I finished a Cleaver Boost Katana I had in my parts bin. Charge pump came from Tayda and works great. I biased the Jfets to 9v just because, and test run. First thing I dont like is when the volume is at zero, so is you volume, none. Volume rises quickly with turn of...

    Uberific Drive

Boring to most, sorry. But this was my 1st OD in 1984 into a 76 JMP 2204 and it was awesome! Endless mods and suggestions on the web, which to me are mostly overkill. So 2 minor changes which make this one perfect for my Superlead. C2-22n (72Hz), C3-68n (498Hz), and its what I believe what they...

    another Sproing

Does the Boing use different branded components? Noise floor? Still happy with Sproing, touch with a cranked Plexi is 1985 Hair tone!

    another Sproing

Ive also read on a previous thread, someone was having weak volume issues? Both of my Sproings are very responsive and just a little goes a long way. Tayda L78L05, Used both TL072cn and cp in other, zero difference. The Accutronics BTDR-2H is the coolest thing!

    another Sproing

I place this after a DD7 and it really smooths it out, both subtle but enough for great 80's hair tone. Just got done jamming with my drummer, fun stuff.

    another Sproing

Michael, Ive used both Med and Long decay of these from stompboxparts.com: Accutronics/Belton BTDR-2H. Choose between medium and long decay. Medium decay: 2.5 seconds Long decay: 2.85 seconds

    another Sproing

I built one of these before using a medium decay module. I liked it as is but curiosity had me do one with the long delay. Its a very subtle difference but I do like it better with the long module. Its a big bang for the buck pedal imo.

    Seabed Delay deep "B" delay

Elna Simlic II (brown) in audio path. Left overs from a Sansui resto. Less edgy than tantalum. I was going to use tantalum, but followed the round silkscreens knowing I had the Elnas. Yes, lots of brown going on, lol.

    Seabed Delay deep "B" delay

I repurposed a brownish enclosure from a disappointing build. Hence the deep Brown delay. Went without hiccups and sounds really good. Two in a row for me! This is a really good circuit and has vibe galore.

    Arche

Quick and dirty Arche Boost. I subbed 914's for the 4148's, a 5532 in place of the OPA2134, & 1n5227 3.6v for the 1n747 3.6v zeners. Sounds freaking great. With the boost full ccw it gives just the hair Im looking for, and the low control is the secret sauce. This is a great boost. Thanks to...

    ADHD VII previous version

Update on the ADHD. I plugged it into a 68 Bassman I converted into a 6G6b. My ears are ringing so thats a sign of progress. Its much better in that amp and there are tones to be found. The buffer and hp switch's work in this one. I do find the drive once turned up is kinda gross. I wonder if...

I didnt even notice what I did, lol. I just wanted to test this thing asap! Im sure this is very true. And every OD will have its favorite amp to play with too. I found obsessing over tweaking a dual sided pcb is more of a pita than I have patience for. Next time Ill just double my pcb order...

Yes. I attach them both to the pcb and the switch pcb first. About 1.5in long eyeballing it. Then I install switch, then fit the switch pcb on top and solder in place.
