I can confirm no Tariff charges when ordering to New Zealand, I imagine it's the same everywhere outside the US.

    Cobbler (V1 Copper) reducing brightness

If you want to calculate the actual frequency I use this calculator. It's essentially the value of R6 or R12 and the cap value. https://www.digikey.co.nz/en/resources/conversion-calculators/conversion-calculator-low-pass-and-high-pass-filter

    Cobbler (V1 Copper) reducing brightness

Anyway see how in the first "tube" there's a 100p cap? That forms a low pass that rounds off the harmonics. You can additionally add that same value cap to the other two clipping stages. You can populate R6 and R12 with both the resistor and cap to create the same parellel arrangement as C3 R4.

The tone knob isn't accomplishing that for you?

    Pastel 2N6429

Hey folks. On GroupDIY it's mentioned the BC549C (which I already have a bunch of) works in Neve preamps. Would it work in the Pastel too? https://groupdiy.com/threads/replacements-for-bc184c-transistor.51340/page-2#post-685599

This is the probably the first time ever I've been glad to be doing this hobby from New Zealand.

Thanks so much. This is super helpful.

Recommended components for JLCPCB assembly process...

Actually using the GitHub tool above does seem to take away a lot of the guess work. Does anyone have an example BOM I could see. The FAQ on JLC doesn't make it super clear exactly what column they expect. I'm using DIP-Trace.

Recommended components for JLCPCB assembly process...

Hijacking this a bit I guess? I'm looking into designing some SMT stuff for Assembly, but there's so many components on the JLC list, and the search function is also kinda bad? Has anyone maintained a library somewhere of good parts to choose?

Most Economic Way to Get Daughter Boards Printed

I'm thinking of getting some daughter boards printed for SMD Fets, Op-Amps, and other SMD stuff. What is the most economical way of getting them printed? Do you create your own pannel boards or do you send the small PCB and have JLC or PCBway do pannels for you?

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

I'd deffintely be interested in the Drive only boards, I think mostly the E2, O2, and R2. I think they'd all be a great resource to have though.

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Ah ok, so the topology is the same but ?most of the component values are different?

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Out of interest, how many of the parts are different between circuits? I guess my question is, could you assemble a version that has all the common parts populated and then you just finish off the rest? I personally would only be interested in the drive section I think, not the cab sim or the...

    L78L12

The reason I ask is, when I checked out the Diezel website, it says the VH4 preamp requires a 12-18v input which makes me think the regulator does not have a step up functionality.

    L78L12

I've looked at the spec sheet for this part. I see it has a maximum input voltage of 30v. But does it have a minimum voltage? For instance if you fed it 9v would it output 12v still? Or do you need to supply it at least 12v?

3mm LED vs 5mm LED for clipping diode

Ah ok cool. So all the"diffused" LEDs will have the clipping / vf characteristics that you would expect?

3mm LED vs 5mm LED for clipping diode

Sorry to necro this. Looking at different Diodes for clipping. This tayda one has a blue shroud https://www.taydaelectronics.com/led-3mm-blue-diffuse-lens.html This is clear blue https://www.taydaelectronics.com/led-3mm-blue-water-clear-ultra-bright.html In the specs they both say emitting...

    Passive LPF and HPF circuit

Hey folks, I'm just dipping my toes into designing my own circuits so I could use a little bit of help here. I tend not to put tone or volume controls into my guitars, preferring the pickups to go straight to the jack, maybe via the selector. Occasionally this leaves the guitar with too much...

5 Way Splitter - Advice Needed

I guess my other question is, Mouser has a range of Hammond transformers, I'm using their direct box one to make my passive DI box. They have some reasonable priced ones, but the response tends to be 150hz+. How much roll off actually is there below that range typically? Guitar doesn't need a...
