    Dandrive pedal prices

Direct quote from Isle of Tone...... "Same as the PREMIUM MINI but with the big handmade board, time consuming cloth wiring and a different screen print design." @Big Monk so it's true, time=price. That damn "time consuming" wire!

4 Tap DC Converter/Isolator Mockup Pedal - Arriving Soon!

If you got into pedal building to save money, you picked the wrong hobby. Like the vast majority of us, I got into this because I like doing things myself, being able to put my own creative spin on something, and mod circuits to fit my tone/genre. When I place an order on PPCB, I also place an...

Scientific Guitarist pcb fabrication at jlcpcb?

Wow, I just breezed through that entire 2nd link and holy cowabunga that looks intense! Always had a minor curiosity about pickup winding and while it's all spelled out by SG, that looks very time consuming and difficult, at least for me.

Help me decide which compressor to build…

I've built quite a few. The General Tso has been on my board since the day I bought it a year ago. Not a ton of squished compression but like most have said, it does lovely things to my sound. For more squish, the Trash Compactor from MBP is awesome. Unfortunately that shop is still beyond...

Jump Drive (LPD Sixty8) - Revisited

As for rattle can hammertone style paint, I've been having a ton of success with Rust-Oleum. I didn't wait for the layers to dry either. Primed, let that dry, then added first light later of Rust-Oleum, about 1min later another light later. After the 2nd layer, I could watch the paint forming...

Charge Pump Noise - Pedal Order Dependent

I have the worst luck with the 1044's. I switched to the lt1054 and any and all whining ceased. Every 1044 I have came from either Mouser or SBP. Could just be my setup or some other issue. My rig has 26 pedals, so trying to sift through cables, cords, power, etc is a real challenge. Ain't...

    Two Tone Fuzz transistor layout?

Yeah I think it's a tc1044, I'll check when I get home from work. I've been "splurging" for the Lt1054's, been getting too much noise from the tc1044's and the lt1054 have been dead silent for me.

    Two Tone Fuzz transistor layout?

I've been building pedals and working on my guitars/amps for a long time. I have organized cases I bought from Harbor Freight filled with everything I need to build pedals. I have numerous kits of resistors/capacitors/etc. All of PPCB's boards have the component values silk screened on the...

    Two Tone Fuzz transistor layout?

No build docs. I did a search of the forums and Robert posted something like this on another thread. You can literally use any PNP that fits Tone Bender specs.

    Two Tone Fuzz transistor layout?

I used GT402's from SBP for all spots, think I used 70ish, 90ish, 110, and it sounds amazing.

    Amp Issues

Well, replaced the rest of the caps today. Did some recording and the audio itself sounds absolutely crystal clear. What an upgrade! The downside is that the distortion tone still blows. I have some components that are stuck in the mail's limbo lala land, so once those come in it will be...

    Amp Issues

Absolutely great advice! I've had this amp over 25 years and I've noticed some minor "burning" of the circuit board due to hot components. I'm sure someday I'll get a new amp, but since this was my 1st tube amp I'll have it forever. Have heard way too many stories of artist getting rid of...

    Amp Issues

Thanks again for all the advice. I'm a big advocate of using alligator clips. I'm going to replace the bypass caps tomorrow as well as some suspect resistors. I've got a discharge pen that worked perfect last time I changed the power caps.

    Amp Issues

Also, if I want to reflow the solder on the tube sockets, do I need to discharge the capacitors? If so, just the ones in the power supply?

    Amp Issues

Just to clarify..... To run checks on my MM on the test points, I have the amp powered up, on "stand by", ground the MM, and touch to the "Test Point" locations on the schematic? I did this last night and was getting readings that were lower, but in the ballpark for what the TP's states. A few...

    Amp Issues

Yeah definitely way better amps out there. This was my 1st amp 24yrs ago. The problem with native distortion is that I basically am playing a full band (drums, bass, keys, guitar) with my looping pedal, so I'm solely restricted to using dist/OD pedals since I can clip the rest of the "band". I...

    Transistor Sockets...

I go through SO many pin sockets. I'm always modding every single pedal I build, whether is transistors, resistors, caps......etc. I always add 3-4 strips with every order I place with Stomp Box Parts. I fried two transistors, using barely any heat, and said never again. I use sockets and pin...

    Amp Issues

I've used this amp the exact same way the entire time I've had it. Always use a looper and play over the top. The past few years I've majorly upgraded my setup and now I build a drum track on Ezdrummer, loop that, then play guitar over that. The sample audio clips I cut from live recordings of...
