For an easy build this one was a pain in the ass. I got it all boxed up and got no bypass signal. Swapped out the footswitch and nothing. Swapped out the jacks and still nothing. I'm not sure what it is but I think there is something up wrong with the either the pads for the input/output jacks...

This is true. All of this will depend how I end up jiving with it. I'd like to use it in a live rig but will depend on if I will be putting in front of the amp or in the loop. If it's in front then my noise will be best, in the loop then the built in gate may be most convenient.

That is good to know. Definitely not a fan of excess hiss so for high gain stuff I always use a dedicated pedal for noise suppression so the gate knob on the Ember would be redundant and likely not used.

You know, I have not tested continuity from the C1 pad to the switch and the other side of C1 to R2. I think that's what you mean. I will do that tonight and see. Maybe I will post pics after that. I'm pretty turned off on the whole thing, but I will give it another shot.

Yep, same on both accounts. Tons of static with both toggles center, and almost muffled when both up.

Interesting. Catalinbread does have a Ge version of their Fuzzrite but I can't find if it's using 3 transistors or not. Seems like they are using 2 to keep it like the original, but have not verified.
