I was wondering why a LM1458 is used in the Timmy (Tommy III) versus a 4558? My understanding is that it's a stripped down TS, so, why not the 4558? Building one now and plan on socketing the op-amp, just wanted to get some opinions.
Hey Guys,
I'm installing some new pickups. I have the attached wiring diagram. It seems weird to me that there isn't a ground wire from the volume pot to the tone pot. Is there a reason for this? It seems consistent across a few different wiring diagrams I've seen.
Looks like the momentary switch in the pedal has 4 terminals? You should use your DMM to figure out what is not-connected/connected in both states of the switch. You might need to move your added wires or add a second set.
I've got extra Ibanez BC-9 boards, if you are interested. Similar foundation as the Purple; you would just have to mod in all the extra switches and such.

Great build! I love this one, too.
I did mine with top mount jacks too, but had to move to side mounts because of LFO noise. Glad yours worked out, but I wanted to give a warning that sometimes it doesn't
This is the likely culprit. You could also try probing both sides of C3 and C4. Lastly, I have a 9V battery rigged with a snap and a barrel jack. Sometimes some pedals get weird noise from a particular power source.
Aion has a DS-1 project (Comet) that has a lot of information about different mods. I'm not familiar with the mod you are describing, but I'd recommending looking over the documentation at Aion.
Because the breakout board is set up for a dual LED (the ones with three legs that are one color in the off state and another color in the on state). You have the leads from your two legged LED soldered to the off state pads.
I would cut the extra ground wire you have running from somewhere near the jacks to the switching board (the one next to the output wire). The ground from the main PCB will be enough.
