    Blackhat Boojum Effects Ibanhad FL9

This is the Ibanez FL9 flanger laid out by our boy Clinton (blackhatboojum). Its sound is in the BF-2 camp but to my ears the slow flange sound has more chorus character. It’s defiantly different enough to warrant building both. At more extreme Robin Guthrie/John McGeoch settings, it’s painful...

    SOLVED Octarock smoking

Are the jack wires reversed? Hard to see. The sleeve should be going to ground.

DEMO Two Milfs- flanger on flanger

Baddass, my dude. That demo is super useful! 😎 I've got the HF-2 for my bass and the BF-2 on my guitar board. Thinking I need to try the HF-2 on guitar too.

    Just curious: 125B vs 1590B?

I've built a 1590B with top jacks. Even if you can get it all squeezed in, hooking the pedal up with patch cables and power cord is cumbersome. You won't be able to use pancake style patch cables. To me it looks janky. I like 1590B better than 125B as a stand alone, but if you want to...

What would you consider a "long enough" delay time for most practical purposes?

First time I've seen this. How well does it work?

What would you consider a "long enough" delay time for most practical purposes?

Nova Delay. Gordo recommended it, I freaking love it. Got it on CL for $80

What would you consider a "long enough" delay time for most practical purposes?

MBP Deathklaw has two pt2399s in series. I did a layout of this with modulation and SMD 2399s in 125B. It gets long cleanish delay times. Though, IMO, as a person who uses long delay times for more rhythmic stuff, tap tempo is required to work in a band. The DIY offerings in tap tempo I...

Strat Middle Pickup Replacement - Bridge or Neck?

Just took a look at the sets of three they sell. Neck and middle are same resistance, bridge is hotter.

Strat Middle Pickup Replacement - Bridge or Neck?

Gordo, you get me man 😎 I just heard a bunch of demos defiantly feeling the JBs. Would you put the 10k or the 15k in the middle position?

Strat Middle Pickup Replacement - Bridge or Neck?

I'm switching out the single coil neck and middle pickups on my strat for Seymour Duncan humbuckers. There are two versions: one for the neck and one for the bridge, which one goes in the middle? Also, any opinions on SJBJ-1s vs Hot Rails?

Lucky Cuss Chorus (Bio77 999 chorus)

Whoa! That looks great! This made my day. 😎 I've got your FL9 boxed up and awaiting calibration. Build report soon. Glad you like it, it's my favorite chorus. Some other differences between the CS9 and the CE-2 is the ability to set the clock frequency in the CS9. You can make it sound...

Intelligent Relay Bypass Module board updated (and other questions)

The momentary function on the Intelligent relay is great for effects you just want to use for a few passages. I have it on my flange and vibrato pedals. The other soft touches are better for things you are going to leave on.

    N00b Question: using a backwards 3PDT daughterboard

I'd switch the wires around. If you do desolder it, the likelihood of the switch failing in the future will increase. I had foot switches fail on me in the early days because I would overheat them.

    Another Schu-Tone DM-3

Doode! That is one beautiful build. Aesthetic is awesome, has that '87 T&C t-shirt vibe.

    Bulk buying components

Buying extra is the way to go. When I started out I'd put together a spreadsheet and order parts for 3 or more projects at once. Buying extra parts will also get you into the bulk pricing for parts, which lowers the cost. For expensive parts like electrolytic caps I usually look for deals...

SOLVED Part of PT2399 delay circuit responsible for repeats (Madbean Degenerator)

Not 100% sure, but seems to me that without feedback default would be one repeat. Makes me think there is something wrong in the feedback path. I'd audio probe everything around Q1.
