Thanks, man. The first time I made one I spent a lot of time going through all of the diodes I had in it. It's really amazing the level of influence it has in this circuit. You can also run them backwards which changes the sound in dramatic ways as well.

The values I used on the PCB I had made are the same as what's used in the OP here and in the post that @music6000 shared above. And yeah, no charge pump, just a jumper (assuming you're using NPN, you replied to the PNP one).
