I hear ya. I tend to believe there are no bad pedals. It just depends on how you use that sound and if it works for what you are trying to do. This pedal gets a lot of hype but at the end of the day it's just another FET based drive.

I like this one. It can be a little "dull" or "dark" sounding. But I use a bright set up. In a live band situation it's a nice rhythm sound. I get why it's a love it or hate it kinda pedal. A lot of hype but not right for everyone or every situation.

Power on the top, jacks on the side. It's the only way to live. Patch cables love it too!

I agree with the comments above about adding jumpers to the unused pads. With this board you can just use the outside pads if you are using 1 diode each way. Otherwise each pad needs to be connected. With that configuration "I Think" you end up with every clipping option being lifted. I built...

I bought a set of Woodies a few years ago and love them. The best JM pickups I've tried and I've tried a lot of them. (Antiquities, Lollar, Fralin, Fender 65s)
