    Slowing down VIIB rate

I’m curious if it could be pushed into FM territory (like when you modulate something with an audio-rate oscillator instead of an LFO) at all. I’ve got the old BYOC VB-2 clone, which I believe is the same circuit. I might stick some sockets in those two capacitor spots and mess around with it ;)

    Slowing down VIIB rate

So then, would lowering the value of C22 & C23 give you faster rates?

Add “Mix” knob to Lectric-FX Karaoke Chorus (CE-1) ?

Picked up a Karaoke Chorus PCB. Probably won’t get around to actually building it for a while, but was wondering if there’s an easy way to add a Mix pot? Comparing it to my old Pork Barrel (CE-2) schematic, the output sections look fairly similar. Could I just do this: * full, hi-res Karaoke...

    Pitch Pirate-Witch w/ Green Jay

Swapped in the new 50k Dual pot yesterday, and that’s done the trick. Never fun when a pedal doesn’t work 100% straight out of the gate, but it definitely feels better when it turns out to be a manufacturing glitch rather than your own ;) Agree that this does get a little noisy on the longer...

    Pitch Pirate-Witch w/ Green Jay

It’s a “pot condom” from GuitarPCB.com. I think he had purple ones at some point too. I cut the front of it to fit the dual-gang pot, which kinda worked (doesn’t fit super snug). Though it works better than the pot does at the moment! ;) Yucatán Jays are very cool. Saw a bunch when we went to...

    Shorting Jacks?

I used some in my modular synth to make a Triple Attenuator/Passive Mixer. In jack > pot > (switched) Out jack (x 3) + one Sum Out jack. If you don’t plug into any of the individual Out jacks, they all go to the Sum. If you do plug into an individual Out, it’s removed from the Sum. Use it...

    Pitch Pirate-Witch w/ Green Jay

I just grabbed those channel locks cause they already had electrical tape on them (from another household project), so I wouldn’t have to worry about accidental shorting. I’m applying significant, but still fairly minimal in terms of what the pliers can do, force ;)

    Pitch Pirate-Witch w/ Green Jay

Here’s a PedalPCB Pitch Witch build. Gave myself plenty of offboard wiring on this one 😓 ;) But otherwise no real big challenges with the build. It features the Green Jay. A very common bird in far south Texas, but not to be seen anywhere else in the US...

    Commercial Build vs DIY Build

The average pedal buyer (i.e. people not on this forum) isn’t ever looking at pedal guts to assess quality. They’re saying to themselves: “Well, I could buy from Boss, who have sold millions of pedals over 40+ years, and don’t seem to be on the brink of bankruptcy due to constantly returns of...

SOLVED Fuzzy Fox Octave Not Working

My experiences with the Foxx Tone circuit are: • a Danelectro French Toast • a GGG PCB w/ 1N34A’s from EBay that I made no attempt to match - wouldn’t have known how or why to, 15 years ago when I built it ;) In both cases the octave is really pronounced and un-subtle (as compared to something...

    Must have mojo parts

That’s worth repeating… Specifically, you want a bunch of TDA1022 and SAD1024, that’s where all of the vintage NOS-TOANZ are!!

Please explain rotary switch wiring to me

This page has some diagrams of rotary wiring: https://beavisaudio.com/techpages/switches/

    Your favorite JIS screwdriver set?

I don’t do much motor stuff, but almost all the (modern) breakers and panel screws I come across are square tip. Which you can also easily screw up (pun fully intended) with enthusiastic mis-application of a Phillips. I think the main problem is the number of supposedly “skilled tradespeople”...

    Need help with a fish......

It is indeed! In fact, the Maestro FSH-1 that the Minnow is based on, was designed Tom Oberheim before he started his synth company. And achieved eventual Jump-related glory ;) …

Can anyone remove a SMD chip and solder a new one?

Chip Quik is what I used (actually I think I got a cheaper knock-off brand off of eBay, but it worked fine) when I needed to de-solder a few surface mount ICs without wrecking everything: https://www.chipquik.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=210001

    Aion Redshift Deluxe: "Saw-Whet Phaser"

You made excellent use of the extra enclosure real estate! Who doesn’t love some constructivist owls?! I’ve got the PCB and parts ready to build one of these. Just need to etch/drill the enclosure and get to soldering. Excited to hear what it sounds like! Here’s the marked up board diagram, in...

    Pizza Rat

Also, I just remembered, a year or two ago my girlfriend and I were hiking at one of our TX state parks. Something flew over the trail, so we looked up to see a raven carrying a full slice of pizza! Guess somebody had a poorly guarded picnic table 🤷‍♀️ Nevermore have I seen anything like it! ;)

    HM-2 w/ Loggerhead Shrike

It is, yes. I only used one, under the right-hand side of the board. The pot wiring is enough to keep if propped up on the left-hand side.
