Good guess? Dunno if snd and rtn are other way around. Easiest to check if led pwr out from board is 9v or 18v before choosing voltage dropping resistor. Gnd wires are missing from my sketchy sketch.

Short answer: -series coupling cap sizing -bright cap across volume pot (220-470pF) -emitter resistor bypass cap sizing (smaller values give brighter sound) -tone controls cap and resistor values

Care to share your observations what changed with leakage? It would be intressing as I just build FF variant and have some lowish hfe Ge’s with leakage varying 50-300uA.

More good or bad guesses! Is D10 orientation right as it’s hard tell it looking your pic? If you jump the relay bypass board, do you get signal?
