    SOLVED SpiritBox noise/hiss

I'd say nothing is perfect. Especially guitar effects;)

    SOLVED SpiritBox noise/hiss

Yes, this circuit definitely has some amount of white noise/hiss. PT2399 and Belton Brick are not hi-fi devices by any means and involve some level of hiss that becomes noticable in this configuration. Changing TL072 to something with better noise characteristics (OPA2134) helped me a bit with...

How hard would it be to bypass the buffers in a Boss DM2-W?

And I'd add that even the standard boss buffer with an input jfet and output bjt stage is a very decent solution.

    Pestle Distortion

Looks correct, nothing wrong with it. Maybe it's worth checking if the pads didn't come off at C8.

    "Stingless" Sugarbag (Fat Bee) Drive

Good work! How does it sound? I am working on mine and initially found it quite low gain device. Finding right J113 improved things a bit. It is also rather dark and bassy sounding. Thinking of a couple of simple mods to try.

    SOLVED Dead EHX Small Stone

Check the voltage here, between R2 and R3, VBIAS should be around 3.3-3.5V.

    SOLVED Dead EHX Small Stone

could be 47r as on the schematic Cybercow has just posted. EHX had different revisions of the schematic over the years.

    SOLVED Dead EHX Small Stone

This pedal has simple power filtering, just a resistor (as I recall it is 100r) and electrolytic cap. I'd check first if there the pins of electrolytic cap are not shorted and the resistor is not damaged.

Increasing Reverb in Belton Brick Sproing Reverb pedal

Increases gain of the wet (reverb) channel so there is more reverb mixed with a clean available.

    PedalPCB 5-Loop True Bypass Switcher

I guess most likely in this case when the channel is on it needs a buffer to support such an electronic switching. So it is 'true bypass' only when the channel is off but involves additional components in the signal path when the channel is on. I guess that's what Robert means.

    PedalPCB 5-Loop True Bypass Switcher

Extending my previous comment. I think such kind of a non-programmable switcher would be great to have in a smaller form-factor. It can be really handy in cases when someone wants to combine 2 or 3 different effects in one enclosure. So if I want to put 3 different effects in 1590DD (or 2...

    Champ Stamp "Highs" filter circuit

@The Gator I've just assembled this pedal and now I understand what you meant. I can definitely feel a lack of brightness and I think the culprit is a low input impedance. My pedal has not only a dark muddy tone but also not enough gain. It reacts quite well to a picking attack though. A buffer...

    PedalPCB 5-Loop True Bypass Switcher

This is gonna be a great project. If you end up with a non-programmable switcher it would be really good to have 2 different switching modes: "and" - like a normal bypass when you can have multiple loops engaged at a time "or"- only one loop can be engaged at a time, so when you engage some...

    Champ Stamp "Highs" filter circuit

I have the Champ Stamp pcb so I'll get to it at some point. I wouldn't have thought it is a dark sounding overdrive looking at the schematic but yeah, there is a couple of places where extra highs are rolled off, that's for sure.

    Champ Stamp "Highs" filter circuit

Yeah, that's true. I calculated roll off frequency with 6p8 and it shouldn't affect that much to be honest. So it doesn't make sense to remove 6p8. What you can try is to lower c5 (220p), for example, try 100p instead.

    Champ Stamp "Highs" filter circuit

If you want more highs try to remove 6p8 capacitor.

    Champ Stamp "Highs" filter circuit

This control rolls off high frequencies. In a nutshell when it's all the way up 1MOhm is added to the 680p making it roll off less as you said and only C7 is involved mainly but I assume 6p8 capacitance in conjunction with 2M2 still can roll off some high frequencies. When the control is all the...

    Favorite hard clipping overdrive?

Maybe it's not a very popular opinion but I really like Boss DS-1. Defouler (DF-2) is basically DS-1 with a couple of changes. Promethium (Boss HM-2) is another suggestion. Klon Centaur after all :) There are so many different circuits that sound absolutely different even though all have that...

This Week on the Breadboard: Super 65 - cb mods

Thank you for the support! Yeah, difficult times here. Making stompboxes helps staying sane though.
