    Paragon mini (first pedalpcb build)

what did you use for input caps? 10n or 22n?

    Tayda Electronics - shipping

With Thailand Post I get my packages in France without paying anything. Small packages though, maybe about $40-50 of parts.

    Paragon mini (first pedalpcb build)

Doesn't make any difference, and actually I now use 100p for both channels :) No difference in gain, the cap would affect the treble response very slightly, but I'd have to calculate how. But yeah, no difference at all :)

SOLVED Cataclysm Delay w/ 2Khz noise

Now you said it, it reminds me I had exactly that issue a few years ago!

SOLVED Cataclysm Delay w/ 2Khz noise

    Yep, he said he did.

SOLVED Cataclysm Delay w/ 2Khz noise

Agree, I find a high pitched sound like that quite surprising, especially since he also tried it with a battery

SOLVED Cataclysm Delay w/ 2Khz noise

Not the chip then... That's odd. I imagine you've already checked all your resistor and cap values?

SOLVED Cataclysm Delay w/ 2Khz noise

You welcome! If the problem persiste Im sure people smarter than me will come to the rescue! If you remove the pt2399 and bring the mix to zero, I imagine there’s no more noise right?

SOLVED Cataclysm Delay w/ 2Khz noise

Do you buy them from Tayda? I’ve had a LOT of bad 2399 from them over the years.

SOLVED Cataclysm Delay w/ 2Khz noise

Do you have other PT2399 you could try? Is the noise present when the blend pot is turned down (delay signal off)?

    Compressors I built in 2021

Try the Madbean 4:1, it's a Flatline with added dry volume in parallel with the compressed volume. It's my favorite compressor by far, I use it with acoustic, electric or bass with great results!

    Cataclysm / PT2399 delay w/drive control...

I think an Electra circuit should work well. No problem with the buffer stage before. It's a simple circuit, so easy to breadboard or even make a veroboard. I'd try a speaker cranker clone with a volume pot on the output (it just has a gain knob) so you can keep it at unity gain but still add...

    Harmonic Trem Phasing Frequency

Notes I took a while ago (may be wrong but it's easy to check). I wrote down to socket the LP filter capacitor, as it seems to be the one that changes the most between various tremolos. To my ears the Twin Peaks tremolo sounds the best. The Cardinal tremolo may be more authentic though (closer...

    Prince of Tone (Pauper) Question

Yes, and writing the letter "H" on the sanded opamp (although it's the same as the other one) and on a cap (same)! Such a smart move though haha

    Prince of Tone (Pauper) Question

Yes! Isn't it brilliant? There was a picture on the fsb forums of a resistor that was very clearly painted.

Extra foot switch to the Paragon

I totally agree. I only use overdrive mode and find the two other ones useless. Distortion doesn't sound good to my ears, and Boost is redondant since in Overdrive mode there's a good chunk of the gain pot that's fairly clean! I make them higher gain (100k resistor) into lower gain (1k...

Extra foot switch to the Paragon

Plus there would be an inevitable volume drop when you switch on the distortion clipping

Lightspeed (Mach1/Light Land) squealing at Highest gain setting

Right, I didn't get a good look at the schematic you're right!

Lightspeed (Mach1/Light Land) squealing at Highest gain setting

I don't see how changing C9 could affect the sound, but if it sounds good to you now, then congrats!

Lightspeed (Mach1/Light Land) squealing at Highest gain setting

If it’s very bright and squeals, I think you may have an error somewhere, maybe a resistor or cap that’s not the right value. Ive never built this circuit, but it shouldnt be that bright...
