    Help with components

After posting a thread here with the same question I bought these two from Tayda: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/lm1117-lm1117mpx-5-0v-800ma-low-dropout-linear-voltage-regulator.html https://www.taydaelectronics.com/ap1084d33g-ap1084-ldo-voltage-regulator-ic-3-3v-5a.html Here is the thread...

$400 spent at Tayda later and I think I am ready to build my first pedal

That's a funny story! I didn't even think about what it would be like experiencing one of these in earthquake country.

It has been exactly 2 months since my first order.

Oh wow! I bet it is beautiful there. I'm right by Patrick AFB. We see and hear so many that we don't notice. I miss the space shuttles with their double sonic booms. We will occasionally get a sonic boom on one of the heavy rockets coming back down but not often... actually had one this...

$400 spent at Tayda later and I think I am ready to build my first pedal

Great info! And that reminds me.. I still haven't purchased any knobs  I was waiting to see what they look like when complete to help me pick the perfect one.. especially since they will still work without them. I didn't realize they were so expensive. Also, I'm sure when I get more...

$400 spent at Tayda later and I think I am ready to build my first pedal

I was figuring it probably costs about $25 per pedal for most builds I was looking at and your statement seems to verify that since I get the $6 enclosures and also my pots at Tayda. Another $10 for a PCB. For my big orders, the shipping was only $7. Wonder why yours is higher? I'm in Florida.

Yep.. starting a new hobby is always the most expensive up front. I don't think I will have to put in much more in the future.

Thanks.. looking forward to getting some of these done. Is that because you are well stocked or just don't keep much on hand.. or another reason?

This stuff adds up quick... $400 on three separate orders. I left some stuff off the first order I needed and placed a second order. Then with Black Friday sales I bought a few PCBs and needed more parts to complete them. I'm not sure I got everything I needed because I got tired of going...

Only two differences between the 808 and TS9?

I got both.. and the OD-1 in two forms too. Actually I bought two UberDrives from PedalPCB because I am a Marshall player and it is supposed to be "THE" pedal for an 80s Marshall hard rocker like me. I'm going to build one with typical cheap parts and the second one I may either try to mod a...

Only two differences between the 808 and TS9?

I recently got the Horde Howler from Effects Layouts and am looking forward to building it. Apparently it can be built with 8 different TS layouts from his parts recommendations. It looks like there is only two differences (R17 & R18) between the 808 and the TS9 on his list (see page two of...

Where to get LD1117S50 5V LDO Voltage Regulator for my PedalPCB Protoboard?

Thanks for this! Being a newb I really didn't know what they were for but I thought it was weird they were there... and SMD. Are those the only two things you left off?

Where to get LD1117S50 5V LDO Voltage Regulator for my PedalPCB Protoboard?

Looks like I have everything I need on order to complete my PedalPCB Protoboard build but I can't find the LD1117S50 5V LDO Regulator. Any got a link to one? Also, will this work for the 3.3V Regulator for the build or should I stick to the one at Mouser that is linked to in the build...

    Airbrushing enclosures?

Yeah, it needs to vent outside, though, there is some vids where guys vent it to a 5 gallon bucket with some filtering inside it. Mine is in my home office right next to a window so I can vent right out the window. Some guys have a hole in the wall like where a dryer vent goes and hook up to that.

    Airbrushing enclosures?

You could paint in your warm room with the right paint booth and decant paint straight from a spray can. I do it all the time. Check out this guys channel

    Airbrushing enclosures?

Yes, it would work better than rattle cans but probably be a little more work with cleanup. Plus you wouldn't waste as much paint. You could even buy small kits of 2K clear for a very hard and durable clear coat. Ventilation is key though.. lacquers, 2ks and enamels are nasty.

Lab Rat - Madbean Slow Loris

I like that painting effect down by the LED and switch... it is like in the horror movies where the vein looking effect starts to creep in. Then I read that you did it by accident.. think you could make this effect again? The drawing and letters are perfect too.
