Wiring strategy for 2 PCB combo pedal

Interesting, that reminds me that when I do a test using one of the mini prototyping rigs, I never have to connect anything to/from *either* of those extra ground pads and it all still works. Perhaps they're just there so I can make a more direct ground connection to the jacks (in case the...

Wiring strategy for 2 PCB combo pedal

Okay. The reason I ask on is because, unless I'm misunderstanding, there are typically 3 wire that go from a pedalpcb and ground. All 3 are typically on the same side of the board: 1. Ground that goes to input 2. Ground that goes to output 3. (-) or ground that goes to the negative terminal of...

Wiring strategy for 2 PCB combo pedal

So, looking at the schematics for these PCBs, it looks like the footswitch completes or blocks the LEDs cathode connection to ground. I realized that, since there are two PCBs and each have their respective footswitch, I should probably use an LED with common anode (not cathode). Check my...

Wiring strategy for 2 PCB combo pedal

Thanks! Whats the purpose of that wire between the two jacks? Is that in case the jacks' mechanical connection to enclosure isn't solid enough?

Wiring strategy for 2 PCB combo pedal

A related question, I'm hoping to use a single LED to indicate which circuit is activated (or both circuits at the same time.) I thought that a tri-color LED like this would do the trick: https://vetco.net/products/red-green-amber-tri-color-led-t1-3mm/lin-4361l1-5 The LED has three leads, 2...

    Squidward with a mix pot

I'm hoping to build a Squidward and add a mix pot so I can dial up and down the octave. Looking at the schematic, it's not clear where I could insert a pot to dial this in. I suspect that it wouldn't dial up the effect any more than the default, but it'd be nice to have some control over this

Wiring strategy for 2 PCB combo pedal

Thanks, this helps set my mind at ease a bit more. Looking forward to cleaning this up as I go.

Wiring strategy for 2 PCB combo pedal

I'm thinking through the layout and wiring strategy for a 2 effect combo pedal that I'm experimenting with. I've just roughed everything into a spare enclosure w/ a bunch of nonsense holes. Still haven't assembled the Squidward board, but it's mocked in there according to scale. These are the...

How to test a PCB with Protoboard Micro?

Thanks for the tip! I've been looking for something like this, but always assumed that these clips would be too large to fit onto a typical pedal PCB: 1969, Pogo Pin Probe Clip (10 Items) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q8DC63N/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_1V4P8TSVEVMVE4YENW4J

How to test a PCB with Protoboard Micro?

Thanks! What about the VCC and GND terminals on the left and right sides of the Protoboard? Should I hook the input/output GNDs to those?

How to test a PCB with Protoboard Micro?

I'm wondering if it's possible to use a Protoboard Micro to test a newly-assembled PCB. I would assume that I don't really need to mess with the stomp switch connections at the bottom of the board, but besides that, what connects to what?

[Solved] Cepheid Chorus - only the LEDs work

Thanks for all the help. I was starting to think I'd never have the sound of the 80's/90's coming through my amp ever again 🤓. I'll post an enclosures and gut shot once I have everything finished up.

[Solved] Cepheid Chorus - only the LEDs work

I poked around a bit more and discovered what was going wrong. It works now! I noticed that C16 was the wrong capacitor. Swapped it out for the right one and it works great now. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ncNFzBMvrKd9iZJi9 Huge thanks to everyone who pitched in to help: Music6000 and...

[Solved] Cepheid Chorus - only the LEDs work

I checked all the resistor colors/bands and all of them besides two matched perfectly with the image you posted above... ...but it looks like either that's an old/inaccurate image and PedalPCB updated their build docs, or the image you posted is correct and thats where I got resistor values...
