    Real Spring Fet Reverb (Surfybear)

    I bet even a lm380 could work.

    Real Spring Fet Reverb (Surfybear)

Not sure the jfets would have enough current drive. Maybe I'm wrong. Mosfets would fs. Otherwise you could drive the springs with parallel opamps, BJTs or a dedicated pwr amp ic then include fets in the front end and feedback loop. Now that I've looked a little closer. Mosfets are being used to...

    A simple Relay Bypass

I've been looking into using a relay for soft switching reverb/delay signals. I've looked at the variations on PPCB however I have some questions. Ultimately, I would like to implement my own circuit on the PCB itself. Mainly, what is the NE555 doing in the circuit? Particularly in the...

    Logic Gates...

Planning on working with the CD4044BE NAND gate IC. https://www.ti.com/general/docs/suppproductinfo.tsp?distId=10&gotoUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ti.com%2Flit%2Fgpn%2Fcd4043b Not having an easy time interpreting the datasheet rn. I'd like to drive an red LED with the output. Does the IC have...

    Types of Big Muff

Thanks for the detailed response. I had heard that the filter caps sort controlled the crossover from soft to hard clipping as what isn't clipped by the diodes is clipped by the BJT.

    Types of Big Muff

delving a little deeper, I've heard that the caps in series with the feedback diodes reduce soft clipping for lower frequencies allowing them to clip the BJTs. Has anyone played around with those values specifically? How did they change the sound?

    Types of Big Muff

I'm looking at it, it's got some weird choices such as paralleling non switched components. With E24 etc that seems unnecessary.

    Types of Big Muff

Sorry if this is a rehashed topic... But I've been thinking about building a fuzz and wondered: what are the Big Muff flavors? I know there's the standard BJTs with diode feedback and the BM tonestack as well as opamp versions and ones that remove the mid scoop. What else? In your opinion what...

Acoustic Preamp Design - Preamp & EQ

Hate breadboarding, I inevitably wire things wrong and spend an hour just redoing it. I've had good success with PCB prints. And at the very least with PCB you're more confident that the error is design and not execution which means less places to check.

Help: Sunn Beta Preamp Mid-Freq Mod

Continuous mid adjustment would be done via a capacitance multiplier. Look under variable capacitor here: C20 would be my first guess. Very complicated EQ, I'd have to simulate. Stick a multiplier in place of C20. https://sound-au.com/articles/gyrator-filters.htm#s12

    EQ Anyone?

You had a design where the resonant LPF was used like a tone control yeah. Kind of an alembic deal? That's what I was thinking of when I brought it up.
